Practical tools for calming stress and understanding why it comes in the first place
This book has everything to do with understanding our own emotions and how they effect our relationships as a mother with ourselves, our babies, our partners, and our families. It talks about how to calm stress through a variety of techniques like breathing, tuning into our bodies to feel the sensations of emotions without judgement, understanding how we are reacting to situations from our own experiences in childhood, and how the following three negative "mama mantras" can create more stress and how to rethink them with compassion for ourselves and others: 1) "I'm doing it wrong" 2) "You're doing it wrong" 3) "Things Went Wrong in the Past or Will Go Wrong in the Future." Anytime I pick up this book in the midst of feeling stress as a mother, I find the guidance I need to work through it with supportive understanding.

Wonderful Wisdom for Parents and Non-Parents
This book is packed full of great wisdom and insights for not only parents but for everyone. A lot of the important information is highlighted which will make it easy for busy moms and dads to read when they have some precious free time. The CALM acronym is a great guide for parents to help remember the steps to stay calm or return to a state of calm during the inevitable stressful times of parenting. As the book points out, the CALM acronym can be used for anyone in managing stressful situations or challenging encounters with people in our lives. I think this book has the potential to make a great impact in the way parents interact with their children and the way we interact with each other leading to a calmer and more peaceful world.

Anxiety be gone! :)
I'm so grateful for this honest book! It is the most helpful reading I have done as a new mom.It addresses all the fears and worries that came up for me and now I know I am not the only one. Jennifer Waldburger and Derek O'Neill put so simply into focus the life-changing transition into parenthood. They know what so many of their clients struggle with and talk about it frankly and succinctly. All those deep worries that no one wants to talk about or admit to are addressed and truly helped me lay them to rest. In such a short time I have relaxed on a very deep emotional level and my relationship with my son is so fun and happy. Thank god someone is speaking truth!

More Calm and Less Stress for Generations to Come
Derek and Jennifer have a way of identifying in a laser like fashion how the family system works, how to identify patterns and ultimately transform not just the mother and baby, but the whole family. Derek and Jennifer offer practical tools and insight, while offering a unique and refreshing approach to the parent/child relationship. It is one of those books that has more in it than meets the eye. I would recommend it to the sleepless mothers and fathers, professionally to my clients and for anyone struggling with the age old question, "How do I bring more peace and calm into my life."

Extremely helpful
The discussion really helps make sense of the stress of caring for a baby and then provides workable techniques for relief. Also, it was extremely helpful to read that a flash of super negative feelings can dissipate in 90 seconds if there is some relief of the stressor.

book
I highly dislike HAVING TO leave a comment for every book I wish to provide an evaluation form. This is silly.
