Not canvas but very nice good looking
Absolutely love the jacket. It fits wonderful very comfortable. I am very satisfied and I’m extremely glad I purchased it. I was expecting more of a canvas material and it is not. It is very stylish and a good looking coat so I am definitely keeping it however, I don’t believe I will be doing any outdoor chores in it, I don’t believe it would ever last. If you need a Carhartt by a Carhartt.

This jacket is the pits.
This jacket is the perfect replacement for my old Columbia. I actually tried replacing it with a newer Columbia a few years back and it was so tight in the armpits, I couldn't wear it with anything other than a tee shirt. This jacket is super roomy in the armpits and I can sport it with any sweatshirt, flannel, hoodie, quarter zip, etc... The fit is perfect for me. It was nice and warm the other day in 40 degrees with a tee and light flannel under it. Well worth it and I wish I found this years ago!

Exceeded expectations. Very warm.
I needed a windbreaker for travel to a cold climate area. I planned on layering garments for warmth. This jacket was more like a winter jacket and far exceeded my expectations. I also received many compliments on how the jacket looked. The only negative is the zipper is a little finicky. It often gets stuck, but the jacket has snaps to override the zipper if needed.

Good Hybrid Work/Fashion Coat
I have been looking for a coat that meets several requirements and this is the closest I've found. 1 - Range of motion: This has fairly shallow arm gussets and doesn't have quite the range of motion as a Duluth Trading or Carhartt but it's good enough. 2 - Style: I kinda go for the Huckberry look, slightly retro and outdoorsy, a little butch, a little urbane. This fits the bill pretty well. It's not as stiff and shapeless as a real working man's jacket so it works for more casual use. I also really do not like branding. I don't want to wear a logo so I don't like Carhartt. A lot of Whitetail jackets have a big "legendary" patch on the arm which is a no for me. This one has a subtle leather patch on the side pocket. I'm okay with that. 3 - Fit: This is a tough one. I'm 6'1” and 230 lbs. My dress shirt size is 17/34 so I'm never sure whether to get a large or extra large. I got the XL in this and it's a little too big but not ridiculous. Arms are a little too long, shoulders a touch wide but overall about as good as I usually find. If not for my pot belly I would probably take a large. 4 - Pockets: I'm pretty specific here. I want good hand-warming pockets not the horizontal ones you see on most chore coats. This coat has those and snap-closure pockets on top of the hand warmers. Clever. I also want at least one secure breast pocket inside and outside. This has two of each. Winner winner chicken dinner. 5 - Durability: I am not a hardcore buy it once type but I do want stuff that lasts. I just got this so it's an open question. It's all triple stitched with rivets at stress points and the cotton poly shell is a tight weave. Some reviews show failing snaps which is often the weak link for clothing as it's easy to mess up. All mine look secure. 6 - Stand/flip down collar: I'm negotiable on this point but I strongly prefer a stand collar that can keep my neck warm but flip down nicely for casual wear without looking all janky. It's hard to find and this one is absolutely perfect. 7 - "Just Right" Warmth: I live in New Jersey. It rarely gets super cold so I don't want something I'm going to cook in. At the same time I need a little insulation. This one is just right - good for 30s and 40s and it will probably work for colder temps if you layer properly. 8 - Easy On/Off: Taffeta-lined sleeves and easy zippers are a must for me and this one has both. Also, the snaps are big sand easy to use with gloves. 9 - Value: There are a lot of $50-$70 coats out there that are just too poorly made to bother with. At the same time you can spend $250 or more and end up with something that's not much better, especially if it's got some designer's name on it. At $130 this is a solid value. It's not artisanal hand waxed Japanese canvas, but it's not cheap, crinkly fabric either. It won't fall apart in a season but it's also not the end of the world if I leave it on a train or something. 10 - Versatility: I'm not a longshoreman or an urban fashionista, I'm a suburban dad with a desk job and a lot of chores. I want to be able to throw on a coat and go to the store, then come home and change my car battery or fix a screen door. This is the coat for all that. Conclusion: I have looked at a LOT of jackets, new and vintage, and this is the only one I have found that meets all the above requirements. It's not 100% - I wish it was a little more tailored and would prefer a more natural-looking fabric to this smooth microsuede but overall it's something I expect to wear a lot and for a long time.

Shame I didnt see it in person before buying
I amost never write reviews, I also almost never return things. This jacket is cheaply made, but it has a nice design. The interior flannel is very nice, it has a large zipper as well as buttons, but the exterior shell is CHEESY. The photos make it look like a rugged canvas, like a carhartt or work jacket. When I opened it, I was surprised to see a shine on it. Its has a sheen that is reflective, and is nothing like a canvas material. If this doesnt dull over time I will dontate it. Over all this is comfortable, but not tough, and not worth the price tag.

Polecam.
