Whatever your sport, Sagunto Smart Sensor measures your heart rate with great comfort and accuracy. While swimming, the sensor stores your heart rate data and transfers it wirelessly to your compatible Sagunto sports watch or Sagunto Moves count App.

Readings too inconsistent
I really love my Suunto Ambit 3 Peak, so I was willing to overlook complaints about the heart rate monitor's usability. Now I'm pretty disappointed with how poorly this sensor performs over the long run. The basic design seems much better than other monitors I've used. And for the first few weeks, it seemed to read well. Then, as others online have noted, it started jumping all over the place. I've tried cleaning the strap and monitor extensively, re-pairing with watch, replacing the batteries and using gel to improve the connection, but it still randomly jumps to 220 bpm, then cuts out, then jumps down to 70 bpm. And it does this basically every time I try to use it. I don't understand how a company that makes such a solid watch can be okay with this kind of performance out of their heart rate monitor.

Sensor will not last longer than the battery - RUSTS
This is the second sensor I've purchased in less than a year. When you first get it, it sets up perfectly well, all is great tracking heart rate and all at the gym, but magically it'll stop working. I usually get home from the gym and wash the strap right away and let it air dry and that was working fine, but ONE TIME I let it dry overnight with the sensor attached and now it's giving me trouble and refuses to connect. The watch says the sensor is paired, but when I start an exercise routine, it will not register the heart rate.I tried cleaning the sensors, thinking maybe it was causing the problem and changing the battery several times, even going out to get a fresh battery thinking maybe I had left mine for too long, and nothing. Upon closer inspection, there was a rust colored crust around the Right metal screw that snaps into the strap and when I looked at the old sensor it had the same issue on the same side. When I first had problems, I tried replacing the strap first, but then had to purchase the sensor and strap combo, so I now have 3 straps and have tried any combination of the sensors among the straps and nothing.I'm FRUSTRATED!! I can't get a years worth of use out of the SMART Sensor and shouldn't need to spend $60 every 8 months instead of $3 to change a battery. And if you go to the Suunto website, they have a software update that can only be completed when you pair the sensor through the Movescount app but it refuses to connect so essentially this is another dud.I'm going back to POLAR!!! I can't understand how someone that goes to the gym and occasional hiking can wear this thing down so quickly when real athletes are supposed to be using this on a regular basis without issues.

Works great with Suunto Traverse
I bought this for use with my Suunto Traverse and it works great, no problems. I was using a Polar unit as a HRM but the battery in the belt died and it is not user replaceable - you have to get a new belt. I already had the Traverse watch so I decided to drop the Polar as I now have two unusable Polar belts and I wasn't about to get another.

Junk
These only last a few months. They work well in the beginning but then they start becoming unreliable, even after changing the batteries or washing it. I bought several already and I just gave up. It is too much money for something that doesn't work reliably enough. If the watch lasts 5 years, I'd expect the strap to at least last half that time, not to have to replace it every 6 months or so.

Works for swimming but generally not reliable
The buffering feature for swimming is awesome and as far as I know it's currently (May 2015) the only digital HR strap that works for swimming. However, overall the strap has not worked way too often -- with the watch or the iOS app failing to pick up a signal, and then after the workout, when I'm about to replace the battery, connecting again. For any activity where you'd be bummed not to have HR you should carry two of these straps.Suunto online support btw is aggravatingly bad.

Fail to do its job
The fit is more comfortable than the old ANT belt, and the belt stays stable throughout a long run. But unfortunately the reading is vastly sporadic and inaccurate, even when I wet the sensory area of the belt as instructed. Sometimes I would get a good and steady reading of 120s at the beginning of an easy run, and then suddenly it jumps to 210 for a few minutes, then drops dramatically to below 100, before returning to around 120s; other time I would get poor signal with a flat reading, then ok signal in the middle of the run, then poor again (like attached).I can hardly trust the HR data collected by this device.

Better Than Garmin
I’ve been using this strap extensively with Suunto 9 Baro. First, the heart rate strap dramatically lengthens Suunto watch battery life, as Suunto automatically shuts off the watch HR sensor during exercise.Second, the HRM is far more accurate and reliable than the wrist HRM.Third, I have found the heart rate readings to be extremely accurate and reliable. As a 66 year old guy who likes very hard workouts, the HRM is my ‘bible’ keeping me in the right HR band during my activities. Finally, my Garmin HR monitor strap has been unreliable from day 1. Not the Suunto.

Great but fragile...then not great
This worked really well until I dropped it. Now it’s highly erratic. So a great device until it gets dropped, which is a very easy thing to do as the sensor has to be detached from the belt after use and it’s small and light and practically whispers, “drop me!” (Update: I bought another and now handle it like an uncooked egg.)

Pairing issues, fails 95% of the time
No end of pairing/searching issues. Functions perhaps 5% of the time. I thought it was a dead battery but replaced it with no change in functionality. Accessing support for Suunto products leaves much to be desired with few dealers capable of providing the required assistance. I fear Suunto will become an irrelevant product in the near future given that Garmin and others are providing possibly a better product and support.

Recommended to pair with a watch, not the app.
I wouldn't recommend buying this if you're looking to simply connect it to the Movescount mobile app. The app is notorious for not being able to maintain its connections. That out of the way, this belt is an excellent companion to any Suunto watch that is compatible with it. I have a Suunto Traverse and this belt was the only one that was compatible so I had little choice. I was a bit worried because of the previous reviews, not just here, but everywhere, with such a low rating. But happily, the belt works great with the Traverse. It's very accurate and hasn't lost connectivity yet. I use it about 10 hours/week and I have no complaints.
