The "Apocalypse Now" of Punk-Rock Art Films...
...almost fails to do justice to the brilliance of this "fake" cinema-verite doc on the explosive disintegration of the rock n' roll dream, for four last-chance punk rockers and their documentary filmmaker, played by the actual filmmaker Bruce McDonald.I've seen Hard Core Logo in empty theaters, and I've seen it in empty livingrooms - it would be amazing to see it with an actual audience, especially one that had never seen it before, for the first time. But YOU can still see it for the first time, at a remarkably low price for this Blu Ray steelbox.Bruce McDonald's earlier films has some gutsy ideas, but the execution was not at professional standards, and HCLII is a joke (a good joke, but a joke all the same). Hard Core Logo was his sweet spot - the place where the author (of the book), writer (of the screenplay), cast, camera operator, and director all came together to make a masterpiece.Every shot, every twitch of the camera lens, every action and reaction by the band members, seems unbelievably real, and yet I believe it was scripted and storyboarded as much as any Hollywood movie. McDonald does it so brilliantly, you'll keep asking yourself if it is real. But one note of caution: this is not Spinal Tap. This is not a comedy. This will not make you feel good. Unless... you really love movies. --Gary

Definitely different! Constant action going on in the midst of a punk rock setting.

Must-see rock and roll movie!
Hard Core Logo is the story of a Canadian punk band’s reunion tour. Each band member is a unique and memorable character with their own feelings about the reunion, and we get to know all of them. The filmmaking techniques are varied and beautifully executed, making the film an engaging ride. There are nods to other rock movies and road movies like Spinal Tap and Easy Rider, but this film stands on its own as a cult classic. When I first saw it, I was taken by surprise at how smart the script was and how visually impressive the filmmaking was. Recommended for rockers and film buffs alike!(P.S. don’t worry about the sequel, it should probably be avoided.)

Callum's best
This movie is an absolute MUST for Callum Keith Rennie fans; he shines in his role as a reluctant returning member of the Canadian punk band Hard Core Logo for their reunion tour. This movie has been described as a dark, realist Spinal Tap, and was billed as a black comedy. While the movie has its funny, often hilarious moments, it actually concentrates on the real, human emotions driving each character. This is a character-driven movie, rather than a plot- or action-driven movie, and shows a great deal of insight about the internal politics of friendship. Though the performance scenes are also very cool.

Hard Core Logo
Hard Core Logo is one for the best movies, If you want to see a movie about a traveling punk/rock band. Hugh [Headstones] is not only a great musician but a great actor. This also shows the band [Hard Core Logo] playing songs on stage. [Note: Hard Core Logo is not a real band]

Awesome movie!

Great
A great high def edition of one of the most beloved films in Canadian history. It also includes the sequel, which is a good film, but nearly as memorable as the original. Special features are good but I would have liked to have heard a newer commentary track.

I refuse to watch Hard Core Logo 2, some things should be sacred.
This is my favourite film of all time.Hard Core Logo is often mentioned among some of the best Canadian films ever made. The only major downside of this release is that it is a combo pack with the sequel. Is this sequel a good film? I would not know. I refuse to watch it out of principal. What story was left to be told? This is a problem with media in this day and age. Once an 'IP' has cache, that cache is exploited to green-light future projects, regardless of whether a sequel or reboot comes at the expense of the original art. Maybe, I'm too romantic, I don't know. This includes a commentary track for the Hard Core Logo film.
