we are happy with the system, both of our dogs got it pretty quick. but about 3 weeks of use i noticed one if them getting closer and closer to the area and noticed battery was dead.

The concept of the fence is easy to understand and implement. Once you get it working the fence is highly effective in containing your pet. Not perfect so you still need to be aware of your pet’s location. But for the most part the fence works well. The wire provided did not work at all. It easily broke after a short period of time and finding the break was time consuming. I had to order a heavier gauge wire from a different company and now the fence works properly.

The product works but ...1. The packing list states 2 batteries but only one was provided.2. The battery is a custom sealed unit and not rechargeable so you need to buy replacements regularly.3. The battery was supplied already fitted to the collar so partially discharged when received.4. There is no warning of impending battery failure - it just stops working suddenly.5. The sealed plug fitted to the control unit is American standard so does not fit European sockets.6. If purchased through Amazon, High Tec customer service refuse support but Amazon refers you to High Tec !7. If unhappy with customer service, High Tec provide a link to contact the President directly. The email generated bounces!

I had my doubts because of the low price and my dog's high intelligence. It's easy to set up. My situation didn't require burying the wire. I laid it along the fence line. My only issue is that it's necessary to twist two strings of wire together. I did it by hand and it turned out fine. The control box is outside and hasn't been affected by the weather. It took a few times of leading my dog to the fence to understand that beeps equal shock. I tested the collar and the shock by holding it against the back of my hand. Before I purchased the product, my dog was escaping twice a day by digging or removing fence boards. I'm pleased to say that he hasn't escaped since he's been wearing the collar. Yay!

The product works really well, and as deigned. Just follow the included directions. We decided rather than burying the wire, we ran the wire loop through an already existing 6 foot chain link, that our dog would clear. We basically weaved and attached the wire to the top and bottom of the fence and it works really well. we have not had one incident where our dog has managed to jump the fence. It is placed on the lowest minimum setting, so as the dog approaches the lower portion of the fence, the corrective tone sounds and this gives her 3 seconds to move away before the correction is administered. The 500 feet of wire was enough to do the .20 acre lot that we currently have. So far has worked in curbing her fence jumping actions.

I would like to start this review by saying that the system works greatBUTAlthough the system works great the only and major downside is the batteryThe last high tech fence system that I purchased had a rechargeable collar that you just clicked on to a change baseThis one comes with a battery that lasted maybe three weeks!I know that it’s a good deal on the front side but look elsewhere as you must keep purchasing batteries and they are not cheap of courseSeems to me high tech wants to make their money getting you to keep buying batteries after you have the system in and you have no choiceWould not buy it again unless they came out with a rechargeable base

I ordered 2 and got 3. Amazon told me to keep the 3rd one r give it away or do whatever with it. So I gave it away. The first one worked fine , could have been rated a 5, but this week it no longer works right. The second one the collar is totally defective, totally. I am currently trying to find out how to get a new collar.

I like collar options on the range. The area to input ends of wire were not very secure. Popped out more than once. I kept mine above ground with stakes along my existing fence since I had a dog climbing the fence. The wire has broken 2 times in last couple of months. When attempting to reconnect wire it kept breaking when capping together. I would recommend just taping to the two exposed ends. Ok for the money.
