Works beautifully on nearly all sized eggs, including tiny quail eggs! For eggs smaller than quail, try topping the light with a smaller diameter, flat o-ring/gasket, to block out extra light and support the egg. Wonderful for checking incubating eggs and fits even small hands comfortably.However, it's not nearly as simple and handy to use as the flashlight app on my mobile phone, which I always have on hand, and is a lot harder to lose.

Has to be a pretty dark area, but everything is wonderfully visible...I'm well able to monitor the chick development progress! Great Investment!

It works great, its very bright. I candled eggs in my daughters classroom which can never get really dark and it worked perfect.

We got this Incu-Bright Cool Light Egg Candler along with an incubation kit we purchased from the Incubator Warehouse. I wish that we had tested it prior to waiting until we needed it because it didn't work well and it caused a lot of frustration. Although the light seemed bright enough, the light flickered constantly. We changed the batteries and it still flickered. Also, the spiral wire connection to the battery in the flashlight body cap was not soldered correctly and it fell off, therefore making the device useless. Extremely frustrating and disappointing. Anyway, based on the other reviews, maybe we just got a lemon.
