Good for the price, but has limitations
i bought this to replace an old 4 port ATEN VGA KVM as part of an Amazon Day deal for £40.Firstly, I was surprised how small it is. It comes in a very compact, nicely made metal casing with clearly silkscreened labelling of all the ports. The supplied USB cables that attach the KVM to the controlled systems should be long enough for most people, but are just standard USB2 type A to type B ("printer") cables, so you could easily substitute longer/shorter ones as needed. Slightly annoying to see there are no rubber feet or mounting brackets so I'll probably make up some little brackets to mount it under my desk. You can power the unit with a standard 5v USB supply using the supplied charging cable, either from a standard USB port, or from a mains adapter (not supplied). However, in addition, the unit will draw power from the USB ports of the controlled systems that you attach to it. So in practice it's essentially self-powered, which helps to eliminate a bit of wiring. The extension keypad feels nice to use, and the indicator LED shows which input has been selected. It is also connected with a standard USB cable (Type A to Micro A this time) so again, you could use a shorter/longer cable if needed. It appears to have some double-sided adhesive tape pre-applied to the bottom surface, protected by a backing film, so you could attach it to a (smooth) vertical surface if you wished. My only criticism would be that the extension keypad buttons aren't clearly marked. A little highlighting to match the silkscreening on the main unit would have been perfect.Picture quality is perfect on my 1080p setup, but I don't currently have a 4K capable display to check the claimed 4K60 capabilities. So, on to the limitations. This really is a very basic KVM "switch". There is no emulation of the screen (so called "EDID management") or the USB devices that are presented to the controlled devices when they are not currently selected. When you switch from device A to device B, what happens is:- Device A sees all the USB devices attached to the KVM and the monitor preemptively unplugged.- Device B sees all those USB devices and the monitor plugged in.This means:1) Device A gets no warning its going to lose access to the devices. Be EXTREMELY careful if you plug a storage devices into this KVM - accidental data corruption would be very easy!2) Device B has to hotplug all the devices before it can use them. Switching just keyboard, mouse and screen takes 5-10 seconds. It's OK, but a bit frustrating.3) Because there is no EDID management Device A now knows it has no screen, and many devices (laptops) will now go into standby by default. Then when you switch back to Device A it cannot then hotplug the mouse and keyboard because its in standby. And you have no mouse or keyboard to wake it up with. Which means you need to manually wake it up.I run Linux, and with a couple of compromises I can overcome all the above. I don't know if the same is true for Windows. For me, the functionality vs the deal price is OK. But this would be a lot easier to recommend if they had just taken the time to implement simple pass-through EDID management, so deselected controlled devices still thought they were connected to the monitor.

Great device. First one didn't work. Customer support top notch
Edited review. Original switch didnt work, the remote failed to operate properly. Worked with customer support and in the end the unit was swapped as the kvm wasn't talking to the remote. The new kvm is all it should be. Excellent.I've changed my review from 3 to 5 stars based purely on the working kvm. Customer support would nudge it up to 7 stars!Original review:Comes supplies with four cables. Only one works (I've tried across three devices). The remote control only liked button 3. If you switch to another button, it goes back to button 3.Luckily I have cables from my two port kvm and am able to use without the remote control, so am able test the product.I have extra wide samsung monitor which an existing hdmi hub couldn't drive so was keen to see how this one fared. It did amazingly well. Picture is crystal clear and refresh rate is passable. The switch gets 8 out of 10.The accessories get 1 out of 10.I'll be expecting a replacement as it would be nice to use the remote and I have one more device to set up which I can't as I need one more working cable.

Great
Work as expected, easy setup! I didn't have any problem with screen resizing when switching from one computer to another. I plugged a webcam to the main USB entry and it works even when switching between computers, mouse and keyboard also working fine. Driver errors might occur when the computer goes into sleep mode.

Worked OK for a while but discovered a quick fix.
Worked ok for one month, had all 4 ports working fine, then started to get keyboard trouble almost like sticky keys with single characters repeating for about 10 repeats, this slowly got worse with all digits and characters then the USB just failed to work anymore. HDMI is fine but no longer accepts any USB input from different keyboards and mice. Have disconnected and reconnected but no longer takes USB from keyboard or mouse even though it is indicated on the LED display under each device choice, so frustrating.I left it disconnected for 24hours and then connected it all back up again and its now working fine but only using three ports rather than all 4 which it seems very happy with so I'm still using it.

Great switch shame the EDID doesn't work.
Mixed opinions on this. The unit is very compact and really nicely made and the switching of USB and HDMI works extremely well and quickly with the remote (cabled) button switch meaning all the cables etc can be hidden away bar one. The big problem for me is that it's advertised as EDID when I just cannot get the EDID to work whatsoever, when switching to and from my laptop (where the switch is switching an extended monitor) all my windows rearrange (which EDID is supposed to prevent this by making Windows think the monitor is still attached).I like the switch and have got around the problem by using a utility called Persistent Windows which will put all my windows back where they where when I switch back to my laptop.Would have given this item 5 stars had it worked as described but only 4 because I cannot get the EDID to work.

Solid bit of kit
I've been through a few of these in the past couple of years; either there are issues with connectivity, or problems develop when switching between devices, or it simply takes up too much space. This KVM worked for me on every level- the base unit is unobtrusive, but it comes with a remote that I didn't think I was going to use until I decided to just stuff the whole thin into a cable tidy on the underside of my desk– now I have a tiny 4-button switch on my desk that looks neat.Right now I have connected a Mac Mini M1, a Windows 10 PC, a Nintendo switch and a PS4. Literally the only issue I've experienced is that the nintendo doesn't seem to like the keyboard, which I resolved by simply disconnecting the USB cable.

Overall happy
I was concerned about the connectivity and the signal change but it resulted a good work. I am now flipping around my two laptops and it changes in seconds. The only flip side is cable mess and it doesn’t come with hdmi cables so you need to buy additional
