The origins of the 911 and 912 Porsche (with facts from a writer who knew the company then)
This is a must own book for Porsche enthusiast; 912 or 911. I recently added a totally restored 1969 912 (with 911 power modifications to this 4 cylinder engine) to my current daily driver, a 2011 Porsche Turbo S. So I bought this book, which is a great source of history of the origins of the 901/911 and 902/912 development and why? Having owned the first 911 model (1966) sold in the USA, I really enjoyed re-living its history. Well researched with interesting photos from the period.

Classy and very informative
Exceptional production standards with heavy stock and excellent reproduction. Lewandowski sheds some new light on what we all assume was a well-known story of the 912's genesis. I was surprised to learn that fitting a 356 engine in the 912 engine bay was not as easy as thought. Of course, the whole project was driven by the bean counters but even that was not as straight-forward as others (myself included) have described in print. Having owned three of these it was nice to see the 912 get some well deserved love with a high-class book all its own.

Excellent history. Lots of "insider" knowledge. And the book gives the 912 the credit and stature that it should have. I recommend this book for anyone looking for 912 and early 911 history.

" This book is definitely at a premium price point but the 912 and 912E group is pretty small so it would have to be
This is the first Porsche book I've read that didn't basically say "Oh yeah, they also made the 912E for 1976." This book is definitely at a premium price point but the 912 and 912E group is pretty small so it would have to be. The only book I'd compare it to would be The 911 Story by Paul Frere. Few books dive this deep into the developmental history of a Porsche car.

Terrific Reference Book for the 912
One of the best model-specific books I've read, a terrific reference for a 912 owner or potential buyer. The author weaves the 901, 911, and 912 stories together in a compelling way. Beautiful photography, too.
