Betty Crocker Au Gratin Potatoes, 4.9-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 12)

We make these all the time and especially when having BBQ ribs or chicken. The rich cheesy taste of the potatoes works well with the hearty BBQ sauce. My daughter and I also like them cold right out of the refrigerator! I like how they provide instructions for making two packages at a time, which we usually do, and they also give times for different cooking temperatures in case you have something else in the oven that needs a lower temperature.

I know how to cook fresh food, but have a soft spot for this product.Sometines you just want one of the original "fast foods" that your mother/grandmother heated up. Great with any kind of meat.

What I like best about this product is that the potatoes do not have the famous fake taste most boxed potatoes have. One note however is that when living in another country you should use a tad less milk than called for or the dish turns out a little runny.

This would make do as a reasonable substitute for a fresh potato bake when there are no potatoes easily available.
