Just what we wanted!
We like to sleep with the bedroom on the cool side, but don’t appreciate a cold bathroom. In previous years, as temperatures dropped, we’d pull out the little black space heater, plug it in above the sink, and flip it on every morning. Warming time, aesthetics, and fan noise were annoying issues. So I went on a search for a couple years and landed on a wall mount fan-driven heater, but after reading reviews about how hot they can get behind, and potential for annoying fan noise, I picked up the search once more and found this item.Pros (key selling points for us)1) Has a schedule capability you can access via an app. Heater turns on in the evening and off mid-morning. We shut the bathroom door in the early evening, and when we’re getting ready for bed the bathroom is already getting warm. Plus, I can turn on the heater or adjust the schedule remotely.2) The heater makes absolutely no noise. It’s ceramic that is heated by electricity.3) You can paint it to match the wall.4) It’s a warm, gentle, spreading heat, not a stream of heat. You won’t sear yourself if you touch it, but you wouldn’t want to sustain contact.5) It’s a cost efficient option6) Feels sturdy on the wall7) Warms beyond my expectation. Have not calculated square footage, but we have an en-suite with large walk-in shower, a toilet room, linen closet, and medium large walk-in closet, and we have 10’ ceilings.Cons1) To me, the knobs on the front that secure the unit to the mounts are a bit unsightly, even when painted. My wife says I am unique, which is probably better interpreted as, annoyingly concerned with composition and aesthetics. However, for me, the payoff is worth seeing the knobs, although if another option were available I would choose it.2) The cord. Granted, I could have an electrician install an outlet below the unit, but then I’d be sacrificing the “price” component of my value proposition. Look at the photos and judge for yourself. For me, the payoff is still good enough to overcome the sight of the cord (which I also painted to match the wall).3) It takes several uses of the heater for the smell to go away, but strangely my brain reconditioned the odor into a positive…” well that is the price of a warm bathroom “. And now the odor has almost completely dissipated, along with my angst.Overall, based on what I’ve seen available on the market, this is the best option for someone in our circumstance.

Awful smell
As most re ire’s said, this thing stinks. Got it installed and fired it up. Came back in the room 90 minutes later and the chemical smell was overpowering. Unplugged it and put it outside. Already started the return process.

Less effective than a hand warmer
This thing does nothing. You can put your hand directly on it if you want. This will not warm up your room. This will not warm up a shoe box. If you leave your hand directly on it, it will eventually kinda warm up your hand.

“Thermostat” is false advertising
This heater (the “Solo Smart”) does not have a thermostat, only an on/off switch. It ships with an inexpensive third-party smart plug, which the headline on the Amazon listing advertises as a “smart thermostat.“ Not true. There is no part of this setup, neither the heater nor the smart plug, that actually senses temperature, or allows you to schedule certain temperatures for certain times of the day like other smart thermostats. The smart plug manual makes clear that it allows only the scheduling of “on and off”. This defeats my purpose for buying, so I will be returning. I have not plugged anything in, so I cannot rate the performance.

Persistent odor when heated
Ordered and installed this two years old. It has an odor when heated. I thought the odor might go away after some use. But two years after installation, the odor is still strong when the heater is used. This must be coming from the paint coating outside the heater. I don’t know how to get rid of it. Do such space heater always have odor like this?

Damaged, over price and did not heat up as stated.
I would not recommend this item, I am looking to something else.

Good product idea, but poor design
I bought this heater from the manufacturer, not Amazon, but the manufacturer does not allow customer reviews on their site. I came close to returning the heater, but decided to keep it. However, I will not buy another one until they improve the design.First off, the plastic caps and the plastic spacers that hold the heater on the wall are just cheap crap. Also, when I put the front plate on, there was not enough room left to tighten the cap on the side where the controls are. If you push hard enough to get the cap on, the WiFi button hits up against the wall, shutting the WiFi receiver off. This is because the WiFi receiver is thicker than the box with the on/off switch, so they either need to make the WiFi receiver box smaller, or they need to make the mounting posts longer. It was also a huge pain getting the heater connected to WiFi. When I finally did get it connected and was able to manage the device with the app, I could see that there was a firmware update available. Tried five times to update the firmware and it just keeps failing, Finally gave up on it.My suggestion would be that you find a better brand. In this instance, you definitely get what you pay for, so I would suggest spending a little more on a better made product.

Save your Money - a small crack appeared within two hours of first use
Set up in bathroom. Easy setup but a crack soon appeared. Smells bad and has never really gone away. I use for a a short amount of time as I'm afraid of crack - will burn the house down
