Massive amount, good flavor, universal usage, but loaded with MSG, salt and food colorings
You get a case of "Knorr Sazon Seasoning" , it is a case of 18 boxes, and each box contains 16 packets of 4.5g-5g of spice. A massive total of 288 individual packets of 4.5-5g of Sazon seasonings (I weighted about 4.5g each while they are spec'ed for 5g each). Each box inside this case totalled to 2.8oz/80g, the full case will get you 50oz+/1440g of seasoning! Great value.This sazon seasoning tastes very good, very savory, great color and not hot/spicy at all. The flavor profile is very universal and versatile, you can use it on almost anything (basically anything) - meat, poultry, seafood, vegetables, rice, potatoes, etc (I can't even think of anything it wouldn't go well with). This seasoning works very well on hispanic and caribbean dishes. I don't mind using it on asian and indian dishes too. Each 5g packets provide great coverage, even half or 1/4 is enough to flavor a dish or a pot of stew.Unfortunately, this is also loaded with MSG, salt and food colorings (the MSG/salt probably is the reason why it is so universal). If you read the label closely, each 5g pack contains a whopping 700mg of sodium (30%DV); and also msg/monosodium glutamate, yellow & red food colorings, along with other spices. When you taste the spice, you definitely tasted the MSG.I love and I hate this seasoning. I love it because it tastes good. I dislike it because of the salt & MSG. So, the conclusion is that I will continue to use this, but in careful moderation (just like everything else). Adds a Beautiful Color to White Rice!
I received the Knorr Sazon Seasoning Garlic, Onion, Annatto & Cilantro 2.8 oz, 16 ct, Pack of 18.When I got a fairly big box of this I was surprised. What you are getting is 18 BOXES, and each box contains 16 small packets of seasoning.To see what this tasted like on something plain, I made a 2 cup pot of basmati Rice.I used 2 of the small packets of this Sazon, with my regular 2 cups of well rinsed Basmati rice, 3.5 cups of water, 2 Tbs butter and about .25 Tsp of salt and low simmered it for 20 minutes on my gas stovetop. After 20 minutes, I turned off the gas and let it sit, still covered, for about 15 minutes. When I took off the lid, it looked like I had a beautiful big pot of grated yellow Cheddar Cheese! At least that is what my husband sure thought when he saw it. It was a glorious sight. :)Anyway, this has a very light garlic/onion flavor to it. It gives white rice such a very beautiful color, but for flavor, it is very, very mild.I chose to add the 2 Sazon packets because I used 2 cups of the Basmati Rice. I figured 1 packet per 1 cup dry rice!I will try using the Sazon packet with some other of my family recipes to see if it makes a difference.So far, I am happy with this Sazon just for the glorious color it added to my rice! We lie the mild flavor too.

Tasty, stay fresh packs of seasoning 18 boxes w/ 16 packets each. Salty/MSG
Great prep item for apocalypse. Use it to spice all your dried grains, or as barter. Kidding.. kinda lol hey, 2020 isn't over yet. :PI say this because each container has 16 packets. This order is for a box of 18. So 18 containers of 16 packets each. This will last awhile :) What I like it that the seasons will stay FRESH because of the packaging/packets.Flavor is delicious, even though not as dynamic as I hoped for. I dont want to say it is bland.. just more single dimensional? My tastebuds pick up on salty, and some non-heat spice. It is really good though. Use it on anything. Know that it will give food a red/orange color. I love it sprinkled on potatoes (made in any fashion), over roasted vegetables (massage them in oil, grind some pepper over them, sprinkle on this seasoning.. mm), over chicken thighs.. etc. One of the things I did with it is to add half a packet to a big glop of mayo. It makes an awesome dip for french fries. YUM.The flavoring is deep like cumin with a punch of salty taste. Coriander is made from seeds of cilantro plant, and does not at all taste like cilantro. Cilantro is the leaves. My husband hates cilantro and was concerned when he saw the term "culantro". I had to explain that it is coriander that is contained in this. Then he tried it directly from packet and concurred that there is no cilantro taste (*sigh*).Just know that it is super salty tasting, has MSG, and contains food coloring.I think it is a great staple, and I love the packets. It isn't a spice I use daily, nor would I use much at once, so knowing these will stay fresh for a very long time is great. Perfect portions. I love that something like this is available.I would consider this again, and I would consider other offerings. Could make for a neat food themed gift.
