LOUQE Ghost S1 Tophat Mk III (Limestone, Large)

This was my second order. Amazon must have given me a returned item cause it was missing screws and the panels had blemishes and tiny scratches. The second order came in shrink wrapped and was in perfect condition. Now I just need a M tophat to complete my build.

fit perfect, great quality, but expensive...

I have the mk1 version of the case, and after not doing enough research before buying the case the gpu is too high for the case, meaning the lid would not close. After ignoring it for 2 years and the recent new addition of a 3.5 hdd that’s causing a side panel to not closeI decided to purchase the medium tophat to solve the two problems.There were a lot of concerns about the colors not matching, however, for my limestone case the two matched together almost perfectly, with the tophat having a slightly cooler shade that is not noticeable unless under bright light.Assembly was annoying, and there was no instructions on how to mount a 3.5 hdd. The holes on the hdd did not line up with the bracket, and I was only able to screw two of the four holes in. After struggling to route the cables and adjusting the position of the hdd I decided to just mount it without securing the hdd in.With the hdd being at the top, it does get quite hot from the heat of the cpu and gpu, not sure if it’ll affect the life of the drive.The rest went smoothly, but I did notice the bezel where the tophat attaches is larger in the rear than front, as well as the lid not able to sit completely flush with the top.Overall happy that it fixed my issues.

I put this off for a very long time having purchased my Ghost S1 a couple years ago. The main reason was the bulging issue and color mismatch. So far the bulging issue seems to have been addressed but the color mismatch in late 2021 is still very much an issue. If I’m being honest it only seems to affect the sides and not the front. Upon opening the top hat it’s clearly noticeable that two of the four pieces are different shades of “Ash” or black. It’s not a huge deal breaker but for a “premium” case and a top hat that cost $55, seems a little unacceptable. Either way, it is what it is. I’ll be installing an AIO cooler so I really needed this, unless you’re one of those S1 owners who leave the AIO exposed at the top. Also, for it being a large top hat, I was quite surprised at how small this case still is. I would recommend this but would also let anyone know who is interested to be wary of the color mismatch. I’m not sure if it’s worse or not with other color options but aside from that it’s a great add on for your S1.

Its surprising that the issue with colors not matching has been around for so long without being fixed. The panels on the case are close enough, though noticeably off. But for the tophat, the long sides are a way warmer shade of white than the short pieces at the front and back. Very noticeable, gonna have to return it and maybe just go without a tophat.

The paint finish on the tophat does not match exactly the paint finish on the Ghost S1 chassis. This is absolutely ridiculous given the self-proclaimed “premium SFF case” by LOUQE. Furthermore, one of the screw holes at the bottom of the tophat was a different size than the other three, making it impossible to screw in completely the bottom of the tophat to the rest of the case. Again, abysmal quality for a premium case. Absolutely disappointed with LOUQE and won’t buy from them ever again.
