Great cable. Great price.
As always with Amazon Basics, positively a great cable at a great price. Amazon Basics makes solid stuff. Second time buying Amazon Basics XLR cables and have purchased multiple other USB cords from them. Why I like this cable:Two velcro cable management straps on each cord.Substantial strain relief at both ends. The XLR connectors are solid as is the cord.My Sennheiser e945 clicked on very reassuringly.Additional thoughts:1. No gold connectors. Great, who needs them? Someone show me evidence of gold connectors sounding better especially with your Monster cables...please.2. Amazon Basics branding. Why are people complaining about this? Some people will complain about anything. These guys make a good product that they will stand behind. Give them a chance to put their seal of approval on solid products that can be had for what is truly a bargain of a price for what it is.

Good components, poor assembly
This is not a professional grade cable, and I wasn't expecting that. The connectors are not gold plated, but it does have proper screw on XLR connectors with a beefy strain relief, and nice insulated copper wiring. The inner signal conductors even have a bit of shrink tubing over the solder cups. The problem is that the assembly is a bit shoddy. The jackets of the inner conductors were cut when the large jacket was stripped. Also, some of the solder joints were a bit sloppy in a few spots on both ends.I was able to re-solder the bad connections, but didn't bother cutting it back to fix the damaged jacketing. It works fine, and isn't very noisy.

Decent cable for the price.
This cable seems decent for the price. It comes coiled with two attached velcro ties. On dissection (see attached image), it can be seen that the solder joints are covered by insulators (although not shrink-wrapped) and the shielding is made of braided copper. Only time will tell if it can endure heavy usage. For me, this is a back-up cable, as I normally connect my mics wirelessly. If you want greater insurance against premature failure, you should probably buy up-market or at least keep a spare.

Doesn't Fully Fit
I was in need of a shorter XLR Male-Female cable, so I searched it and bought the first result-because AmazonBasic cables are actually really good. I give this a three star specifically because, though it works well and is good quality, the clip doesn't fully fit into my mic. There is a rubber bushing on the cable-I removed it thinking it would work and it is because the clip is SLIGHTLY (like maybe 0.01mm) too far back for it to clip into my mic properly. All other XLR cables work fine, this one is just ever-so-slightly too far back. --That is the only reason for a 3-star, having said that, the cable is high quality and works just fine and I will use it, though it doesn't clip in properly. I got it to barely clip in by pulling up on the release "button" and it slips in just a little bit, which is better than nothing.TLDR; The female part of the cable is slightly too long to CLIP into my mic. It works fine though not clipped in.

Great, durable XLR cable. See details for use case limitations. Highly recommended
From my previous experiences, I generally think of AmazonBasics as kind of a no-frills brand. However, when I was looking around for a shorter XLR cable (most of mine are 15 or 25 feet), I was shocked to see the AmazonBasics cable. First, I didn't think there was enough XLR cable sale volume to warrant them carrying them under their brand. Second, the product images looked pretty good. No, the cables aren't colored, but you can solve that with some tape at the ends. The cable itself is a light gauge affair, with a decent amount of insulator. It coils easily and doesn't kink, and while it's a bit less heavy duty than most XLR cables, it seems more than good enough for my needs. I would say, though, that you will want something heavier if you want to tape these directly to the stage. They are perfect for on-camera, in-rack, of, on-table applications. The thing that made me notice these cables in the product photos, and ultimately what made me buy them, was that the interconnect is encased in metal. While it's not technically necessary, I really appreciate the extra durability on the highest wear part of an item that is used all of the time. If I have a clumsy moment, I don't have to worry about having trashed the end of some of my audio rigging. That leads me to my last observation... XLR is usually used in professional setups, which favor things like locking connections. The tab on the male end of the cable worked well with EVERYTHING that I tried it with. The clip and release on the female end was less than perfect. The mating plastic (not exactly a gasket), kept a couple of my cables and devices from clipping in properly - that was 2 of 15 tried. A few of the ones that fit only clicked when a large amount of force was applied. While the lock release is textured, it's not comfortable to use if you need a lot of force to release the clip. It's not a deal breaker for me, but I thought I should mention it.If you need a good quality XLR cable with good durability, and you don't have to use it unguarded on a trafficked floor surface, this should be excellent for you. Highly recommended.

Fantastic quality and a great price.
UPDATE- Still working great, and the band is still happy with it.Excellent quality, the ends are solid with a good weight. I didn't receive any pops or feedback. The rubber is thicker than some of the non name brand cables I see around here. I bought one to test and will be getting more in the future. I do a ton of recording and usually require about 16 tracks at a time for drums so these will be perfect for the job.I enjoy helping consumers make informed decisions. Thank you very much for the 'Yes' helpful vote, and please feel free to comment or ask questions related to this product or other items I have reviewed on Amazon.

It's BALANCED XLR!
It's great price for a balanced XLR cable. It you don't know what balanced and unbalanced is, it's important to know if you don't want any extra NOISE in your audio system. If your cable has only 1 ring at the jack, then it has only two wires in the cable, which may pick up noise along the way from the mic or whatever instruments you have connected to the mixer. It's important to check to see if there are two rings (3 wires inside), which mean it's BALANCED, it has a "noise cancelling" function and you will have almost zero noise (drastically reduced) when the signal is back to your mixer. Which means it's cleaner, and the recorded audio is useable. :) :)You don't need >$100 for mic/instrument cable, unless you are recording at Abbey Road level. Just make sure it says BALANCED.

Very poor designed. I've had good success with AmazonBasics before, but stay away from this cable.
While I've had success with AmazonBasics cables in the past, in my opinion Amazon should not be selling this cable under their brand. The cable has very shallow clip on the female end and either the rubber washer is too big, or the clip is not in the right position. In either case, these issues combined mean that the cable requires excessive force to lock in to a microphone (I tried several microphones and all resulted in the same). I attached a few photos and in the middle one you can see how it does not lock in when pushed in all the way, and in the third you can see that it does when you use excessive force.I've owned various levels of cables over the years, and this one is definitely not recommended and of a poor design. I'm returning mine.
