2,000 Guitars

This was a Christmas gift for my husband. He loves the book, but the book did not look new when it arrived. Difficult to describe, but the front and back (hard) covers were warped. Makes me wonder where it came from.

My 13 year old nephew who is just starting to get into guitars really enjoyed getting this book for Christmas. I have been into guitars since I was just a bit younger than him, playing for nearly 40 years as well as designing and making them for over 30 years. I have similar such books myself including two others by Tony Bacon. There are so many different guitars that it would be nearly impossible to show examples of every single model by every single manufacturer, but the book does a pretty good job of covering a wide variety of them. I see it as mostly a picture book, as it doesn't delve into too much depth on each manufacturer but it does provide a decent synopsis and discussion of each of the ones featured. For a young guitar enthusiast its just the thing to get them hooked well enough that they will endeavor to research and learn more about the instrument's history and that of the makers. It really should be titled "2,000 Electric Guitars" though.

I bought this for my son, an aspiring guitarist, as a gift. He says it's huge and has tons of product information, past & present. I'm in an assisted living facility, but my wife agrees with what I've written. It was well worth what little money we spent. Overall, a good investment.

This is hours of reading pleasure. Lots of beautiful pictures and facts about each guitar. It has everything from oldest to newest brands and ones you've probably never laid eyes on. Great gift for that guy or gal that is into guitars.

I bought this book as a gift for someone who's played electric guitar since the late 1960s, and he LOVES it. The images are stunning, and having instruments from the very recent to some that are several hundred years old arranged alphabetically by manufacturer makes it easy to thumb through to find personal favorites.

Exceptional bargain with the quality and quantity of information/photos contained within. Highly recommended.

Firstly a great coffee table book. The problem I have as a guitar book collector is there are many publications on the market very similar. The book is a guide across the many makes interesting and is worth the money I would have liked a bit more written info..If you are looking for a general guitar book this is as good as any.

I am not a player, but have always been in awe of guitar players and am intrigued by guitars as a blend of art and function.The book certainly has a great many lovely photos, however if you are looking for any technical details then you will be disappointed, as it focuses on company founders;locations;mergers etc, rather than construction; famous players etc.Would still recommend though, especially at the price!

Great book all the guitars you would ever want to see.

Essential coffee table reading for twangers

Fabulous book Packed with fabulous photos and lots and lots of wonderful information about these exquisite guitars! Very highly recommended!
