It Works!
This stuff is everything it was advertised to be - non noxious odor, easy to use and clean up and - most importantly - provides incredible water resistance for wood products. I am slowly but surely treating all my new and existing outdoor wood products and plan to buy a second gallon when my first one is used up.

Kills bugs in wood!
Kills wood borers as claimed. Also seems to make dense hardwoods a little easier to cut, perhaps the cedar oil is acting as a lubricant. Sawdust from cedarsheild treated wood is more like wood meal, fine particles clump together, less dust hanging in the air.

May Protect Wood From Bugs, But Warpage Still Occurred
Followed instructions to the letter, but product did not prevent warpage on lumber purchased from Lowe's. Product states that it replaces "free water" within the boards to stabilize dimensions. I think perhaps the usage per square foot as stated is far too low--I think much more product was required. At $50/gallon, it is not practical for a large square footage. It does smell nice, however, so hopefully it will protect the wood from bugs with its cedar oil. The boards got deck paint, so that should help too. I really wanted dimensional stability, but that did not happen. The cost of the product was about 2/3 the cost of the boards to treat, so not sure if it was worth it. The boards were 2"x8"x16' long, so "submerging" the boards was impractical and would have taken more than 5 gallons of solution. I also selected lumber that had sat on the shelf for a long time, so it was not super green wood. It was lighter in weight, indicating it was dried out over time. I have confidence that some of the water was removed, but I do not think a surface treatment achieved the penetration required to make the wood stable. Maybe my expectations were too high.

DOES NOT WORK
Followed directions explicitly for ants in my attic.By the time I applied this the colony had been killed by summer heat.I applied as prophylactic for the anticipated Spring swarming season.STUNK TO HIGH HEAVEN FOR WEEKS - driving me from my house. It was so noxious we couldn't enter the house for about two weeks. We tolerated this, hoping it would protect us against the Spring swarm. Now, it's Spring.Guess what?MASSIVE SWARMS OF BUGS coming down from the attic. This stuff had NO EFFECT.Total ripoff. Don't buy.

Great product!
Quick shipping. Easy application. This time next year will tell if it works as promided. If so will save deck and time & money with long term wood preservation.

Overpriced and Doesn't work Well
Does not protect against wood borers. I see almost no difference in the weathering of the yellow pine I have. Stick with the tried and trued methods of pine tar, linseed oil, and pure gum spirits of turpentine. This stuff is overpriced and after two heavy sprayings on my timbers I still notice new bore holes from bugs. Lots of new ones. Does not work.

Worked well, no problems it went into the wood ...
Worked well, no problems it went into the wood cedar siding as it said it would. About ready to add stain I can tell you more after I apply the stain. finish

and the wood never gets worse than it was when sprayed
This product creates a pre-petrified state for all exterior wood keeping out insects and moisture. The wood also does not shrink or expand so the paint or stain does not peel. It is non-toxic and can be sprayed on with a pump action garden sprayer or brushed. I have used it on old wood, too, and the wood never gets worse than it was when sprayed. My deck stain has lasted years and will last many more as a result of Cedarshield.
