have a 20 year old ge dryer and the selector knob cracked - i'll give ge 5 stars for the dryer - if you get 20 years out a knob that gets continually cranked that in itself is remarkable. ordered 2 before this and the shaft size was too 2 large to fit into either of them. luckily i still have the old manual so i went on the ge website for the correct number on the knob. the 3rd one i ordered by model # and it is a perfect replacement and looks exactly like the old one. the brand is sikawai and cost 9 bucks. the original ge part was 44 bucks on the ge website. are you kidding me ? !!

Not unbreakable as far as long term grip. Lasted a month before it lost grip. Only solution found after trying several of these was OEM part at 2x to 3x the cost of this one. It was visually a close match and having a metal band around the plastic connection seemed a good solution but band is not useful and ultimately cosmetic.

I have approximately a 12 year old GE dryer and the timer knob cracked on the underside of the knob. I searched to find the correct one but my model number (212D1302) wasn't listed as being compatible with this part but it looked the same so I took a chance. The knob looks exactly like the original but the new one has a metal ring on the underside where the original cracked. It does not slide all the way down the timer shift like the original but it's close enough for me. I have had to "MacGyver" alot of small things on this dryer but I keep doing it because it still basically works well. This replacement knob will not work for the signal, wrinkle care, fabric care, or start options as it is too small but works well for the timer option. Overall I would recommend it because it works alot better than the pliers that I was using...and for $8 it was well worth it

Lasted for 1 year before failure. The metal band helps, but the only real solution is to make the shaft receiver much thicker or make the inside out of metal entirely. The torque necessary to turn the timers is just too much for a flimsy plastic receiver to handle. Every other similar part seems to have the same problem, unfortunately.
