Love it for going through multiple layers of vinyl fabric and holes can be anywhere
It's tough to punch through many layers of vinyl for bag making. It's also tough to see where you're punching with some of the hand punches or big presses. This went through multiple layers with ease and I could see exactly where i was putting the hole. And you can put the hole anywhere! You're not restricted by the length of your press. It is a bit of a learning curve to have the punch do the rotation when pressing down and that is critical. Practice on a cutting mat without material a couple of times to get the feel. I used my self heal sewing matt and it didn't seem to damage it at all. I don't use this for paper. I know paper dulls things quickly so that's probably the reason for some of the lower reviews. For fabric it's great.

Awesome also for paper crafts!
Awesome also for paper crafts! Unique little crafty tool. Glad I found it

It works
I have used this several times. It seems to be low quality as a metal ring is coming off the wood. I can glue it back, so no problem. It probably is a good one to start with if you want to save money and it works.

I love this punch set
This punch set gets more use than I thought it would when I bought it. It functions well with little effort. The selection of hole sizes makes this set a must have when different size holes are needed for an array of stitches, snaps and eyelets. This punch made clean sharp holes, I have no complaint. Handy and stores well in my small craft room. I bought this tool in 2020 Nov. and have used it pretty much every day since. It does punch paper and yardstick. The trick I have learned is when punching paper or anything the base you punch on should be a hard plastic cutting board, (Dollar Tree Item) the reason for this is the base will get cut as well. Another trick is when cutting, rotate the cutter around the hole you're making to make sure the hole you are cutting is complete. One more hint, I oil the grove to making the pushing motion easier, cuts down on the pressure needed. I sure hope this helps out, I really like this tool. Now I want to buy an extra set of punches for mine as a back up. I would be lost with out this tool. I don't need another tool but, I will buy one just for the extra punches.

Defective and unusable
I purchased one of these previously and it works like a charm. I had intended to use them for bookbinding with my schoolchildren this week. When I took the two new ones out of the package, they do not work. They grind, they stick, they lock and they do not work at all. They are horribly defective and badly made. Do not purchase this product. You can hear the horrible grinding noise in the video. It does not do this on the original puncher I purchased. Very very disappointed

Not for use with paper...?
I bought this because I am trying to create booklets using a coil binding spine. The punch did not work consistently on basic copy paper. I tried to punch through three sheets of copy paper at once; I placed three sheets of copy paper on top of a piece of cardboard over a cutting mat. I also tried this with one sheet of paper at a time. Many of my punch attempts did not give a clean punch and I had to repunch the same hole multiple times. The packaging is in Japanese. I used Google Translate to read the packaging, to try to figure out if I was doing something incorrectly. In the translation (if it's correct), it says the tool is not intended for thin paper. If that's the case, then this tool is not what I need, unfortunately, and it would explain why I was not able to successfully punch holes in paper.

This goes where a hole puncher can't
This product saved me so much time and effort. I had to punch center holes in the middle of 30 thickly laminated card stock circles. My heavy duty hole puncher could not reach the location of the hole. This product punched right through all layers. The waste holes got stuck sometimes but it easily and quickly unjammed.

Love it!
This was recommended by an acquaintance. Was a little skeptical at first but works better than expected. Easy to use and multiple hole sizes. Will punch through several layers of vinyl, foam, stabilizer at a time. Great quality.

Brauchbar
Die Messinghülse hat am Auswurf Grate. Die Feder im Holzgriff knarrt vernehmlich. Insgesamt gibt es sicher hochwertigere Lochstanzer.

Easy to use
I love my new hole punch. Just press on it once and it punches a nice hole. So easy to use.

Loose Covering, But Overall Does The Job
Really like the punch, I wanted to use it for book binding and it slices through smaller groups of pages great. Like some of the other reviews said, the paper does tend to jam in the end, but I just have a paperclip handy to unclog it, and it's not too difficult. Most of the higher end ones you have to buy the different gauges separately, and I liked that this one included many different sizes. The little gold piece at the end also fell off immediately after the first punch, but as far as I can tell, it's just for decoration, so I just reglued it and so far so good. If you're just using it recreationally, it's great tool for the price.

Rusty
I don’t know if it’s really just because this binding tool is ancient but I’m disappointed with what I received. The item was rusty and really hard to use.

It’s ok
Maybe it’s me but I couldn’t get it to work without it hurting my hand
