Q: is there a locking device tho ensure somebody with KNIFE DOESN'T JUST CUT THE STRAPS AND TAKES THE ENTIRE BAG?

They could cut the straps and take the bag whether or not there is a locking device on the zipper of the bag or not. The bag came packed(from China) in a 13 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 4 1/2 box. Seems to be of tough material, supposed to be waterproof. Is the biggest bag you can get for a hitch carrier. Will take it to Arizona and back (4000 miles) this winter and will know more about it after that.

Q: How water proof is this product? Have any of the owners driving trough multiple rainstorms over the course of months, not just one trip?

I drove trough a rainstorms coming back from my roadtrip, I was very disappointed that water that was collected under the bag was still gotten into it, so needless to say that my stuff got all wet. this was first time that I used it, so I don't know if I wanted to risk getting my stuff wet again!

Q: I have a Ford Escape, is this bag too big for that?

It's a fairly large bag I think it'll be too big for your roof rack

Q: Would this carrier work mounted on top of a stand up paddle board?

On a paddle board I would think this would be WAY too big. I have a Yukon and it pretty much takes up the whole top of my truck. Its very big and has worked out perfectly for the vacations.
