I wanted to like this solution, but the finish was very weak and scuffed up on the edge when I tightened the screw. normally not an issue but I have a black car and the little glimpse of silver was quite visible! Had I known the finish was so fragile, I would have used a smaller tool with a cloth to fill in the gap...

I am an owner of a 2013 Hyundai Sonata GLS. I purchased these screws because it was stated they were universal and work on any/every car. Let me tell you that is not the case. I spent almost an hour attempting to screw these bad boys in by hand. What happened?? The screw will turn, turn, turn, and turn. NEVER to tighten up because either the whole is not big enough, the screws don't fit exactly, or faulty design. I sincerely wish Amazon would do a better job at soliciting these products along with recommending what vehicle they go with.

These “security screws” can be turned with any ordinary T-30 bit. You don’t need the included tool to remove the screws. The shank on the screw is too shallow and allows T-30 bits (or even just a flat head screwdriver) to turn the screw. These are useless.

It never crossed my mind somebody would steal a license plate but we're living in strange times. When I got a back-up camera for my car, I read reports of them being stolen along with the rear license plate. I immediately searched for a way to prevent this. They were very easy to install and I replaced the screws on both the rear and front license plates.

We purchased these because someone stole my license plate , Which totally bummed me out because I love my license plate they were personalized and represented me as a ghost Hunter. I just received my new license plates yesterday and they were very easy to put on with the new screws wish my new place represent me as well but not as well as the first ones. I think this is going to make it more difficult if someone were to try to take my license plate again because who carries this kind of tool around. So fingers crossed I wish I had known about these before

Super great quality but the bolt head is just big enough to cover the holes on an American license plate so I felt I needed to add some washers to make sure the plates did not pull off in the wind while driving 75. Would give them a 5 star if they increased the size of the bolt head. But not a huge deal to add a washer and if your not driving on the interstate at 75 you’ll probably be ok with the size of the bolts.

Since we have a vehicle that is apparently catnip to car thieves (according to lists of most stolen cars), and live in Rochester, New York, this seemed like a good thing to have. Granted, this won’t help the car not get stolen, but if it makes getting the plates off after just that much more difficult, I’m all for it. Don’t lose the tool.

Easy installation and leaves you with a better feeling of security.Necessary installation tools included.You could probably gather same parts for less but convenience of a complete kit is nice.Nothing is thief proof but should discourage all but the most determined.
