Ideal for detailed painting, sgraffito decoration, watercolor effects, free brush painting, screen printing and mashima decoration, the opaque underglazes are designed to perform in a wide firing range, Cone 05 – 6, and have been successfully fired to Cone 10. Create Depth & Character Speedball Underglazes can be used to create designs and patterns that will come through the glaze covering them, allowing for more visual depth and character. Although they are often used under clear glazes, they can also be used under other, generally light-colored, transparent glazes. In the Studio Speedball Underglazes can be applied to greenware and bisqueware. Colors will not move or flow during firing. For best results, apply 3 liberal coats and use with Speedball Earthenware or Stoneware Clear Glaze. Review: These are a steal! - I haven't had any of these fired yet, but these are a steal. The bottles are 5 times bigger than I was expecting. I transfered some of each color into a smaller container to transport the colors to class. This set had all the basic colors. The red wasn't quite as vibrant as I would have liked so I hope it gains some in firing.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: When you paint a color on greenware, will it come out the same color when fired? And I want to mix the colors so will it come out exactly like my mix?**
A: The colors ‘pop’ when it is fired.  I love to mix colors & sometimes I get surprised. But if you look up the color on their makers website it’s the closest.  What I did was buy a 10x10 square & did 1” swatches painted 3 times & fired it so know exactly what color it will be.  Enjoy!!

**Q: Can this be used on greenware and bisqueware?**
A: Yes.  But the quality of the underglaze I received was very gritty.  I've been meaning to call Speedball about it.  Also the purple sometimes fires as blue.

**Q: Can these be mixed to create different colors?**
A: Yes, most certainly. It’s one of the best nature of underglazes is that you can mix them into different colors.

**Q: How many bottles are in this package and which colors are included?**
A: 12 bottles. I got pink, black, yellow, orange, grey, red, medium green, purple, royal blue, white, sky blue,  orange, and brown.
