Solar Shield Fits-Over SS Polycarbonate II Smoke Sunglasses

My ophthalmologist surgeon's gave me a pair of SolarShield sunglasses to wear after my cataract surgeries. I loved them for their coverage and effectiveness. When I finally needed to replace them, I found this item. It's identical to my older original pair. How do I love them? Let me count the ways. I love the shield above the lenses because it blocks the sun from coming in above my glasses. I love the tiny windows on the side of the glasses because it helps protect my eyes from the sun while still allowing me to have enough side-vision to see while I'm driving. I love how comfortable they are; they are light-weight and don't push down on my glasses the way some other types of fit-overs do. I love the smoke-gray lens color because it reduces glare better than any other color for me. I love the way they stay in place and don't slip down my nose. I also appreciate that they came with a microfiber drawstring bag/case to help keep them clean and scratch free. I also love the price, which I thought was quite reasonable for something that suits my needs so nicely. I'm happy with them, and I've already recommended them to friends. When it's time to retire this pair of sunglasses, I'll buy another pair just like them.

The polycarbonate frame feels lightweight but sturdy, and the smoke-tinted lenses cut glare effectively, especially during midday sun. I noticed a real difference on long drives—less squinting, less eye fatigue. The styling is simple and not flashy, which is fine by me since I just want functionality. They do cover well on the sides, so light sneaking in from the periphery is minimal. One thing to note is that while they fit over my standard glasses comfortably, if someone has larger or wider frames, it might feel snug. I haven’t had issues with scratching yet, but like most sunglasses, they’ll need to be handled with some care. I keep them in the car and they’ve held up to daily use without warping or loosening. Bottom line: A very practical and comfortable pair of fit-over sunglasses that make driving and outdoor time much easier on the eyes.

I bought these for maximum protection from the sun since with other glasses the light always comes in from the top and sides. I know these are designed to wear over prescription glasses, but they are advertised as wearable without. Perhaps it's my facial anatomy, but these don't feel right on my face and when I push them up to seal out the light, the upper lip bumps into my brow line. I took a foam earplug and stuffed in between the nose piece with some improvement even though they look ridiculous. But I'm keeping them. They will be good for working around the yard.

Very basic, but does the job effectively. Used for daily outdoor workouts.

If you drive a lot, and have to wear glasses in your day-to-day life. I HIGHLY recommend these sunglasses as they sit PERFECTLY over most modern-day eyeglasses.

I’m sure these sunglasses fit over some glasses but they’re not a good fit over mine. Also, I can’t use them for long because they aren’t comfortable, hurt after a couple of minutes.

These have the strongest frames I have seen for this type of sunglasses. Purchased a different name brand and the upper frame cracked in a few months. Very good vision at the sides.
