Teach violin with the popular Suzuki Violin School. The Suzuki Method(R) of Talent Education is based on Shinichi Suzuki's view that every child is born with ability, and that people are the product of their environment. According to Shinichi Suzuki, a world-renowned violinist and teacher, the greatest joy an adult can know comes from developing a child's potential so he/she can express all that is harmonious and best in human beings. Students are taught using the mother-tongue" approach. Each series of books for a particular instrument in the Suzuki Method is considered a Suzuki music school, such as the Suzuki Violin School. Suzuki lessons are generally given in a private studio setting with additional group lessons. The student listens to the recordings and works with their Suzuki violin teacher to develop their potential as a musician and as a person. This Suzuki book is integral for Suzuki violin lessons. This revised edition of the Suzuki Violin School, Volume 3 features: * Revised editing of pieces, including bowings and fingerings * Additional exercises, some from Shinichi Suzuki, plus additional insight and suggestions for teachers * Text in English, French, Spanish, and German * Musical notation guide * Fingerboard position. Titles: Study Points * Tonalization * Vibrato Exercises * Gavotte (Martini) * Minuet (Bach) * Gavotte in G Minor (Bach) * Humoresque (Dvorák) * Gavotte (Becker) * Gavotte in D Major (Bach) * Bourrée (Bach). For a complete list of the most recent printings by AMPV number, go to alfred.com/suzuki. This title is available in MakeMusic Cloud. The International editions include an updated title page that designates the book as the International Edition. A Federation Festivals 2020-2024 selection." Review: Great Workbook - I play the violin. Yet, while I do know how to read notes and play them, I am inclined to playing by ear. However, I don't play the classics everyone knows and loves, but the popular songs that you hear on the radio's top music station and get stuck in your head. Why? Because they get stuck in my head. But that's beside the point. I am in an ensemble, so I decided to get a nice, easy book to take a break with and to supplement my daily practice sessions. This is the revised edition, and I prefer this one the the previous version. The pieces are somewhat edited, and new bowings and exercises are added. The compositions included are clearly and largely written, which is pleasing the the eye. The pieces are great classics that you will probably be able to recognize. There are some great lessons and exercises thrown in there which will aid your playing, as well. There is also a glossory of musical terms in English, French, German, and Spanish, which has proved to be helpful on various occasions. Overall, I reccommend this practice violin book to any violinst who is going through the journey of learning on his or her own, student who wants to go beyond what school orchestra has to offer, or, like me, one who wants to supplement their daily playing. It suits my needs very nicely and I hope it does the same to you. Review: Tried and true teaching method - Definitely ramps up the difficulty level compared to Vol 2. My get us getting a lot from this through weekly instruction from a pro and daily practice.

Great classical repertoire carefully selected and arranged
The Suzuki repertoire is varied, interesting, pleasant to listen to, and fun to play. There are videos on Youtube to help me learn the pieces. Even though I'm coming to violin as an adult learner, it's great that this method isn't just for little kids. I'm really enjoying this book. One thing i like is that there are specific challenges in each song. They have been carefully chosen to foster musical growth without overwhelming an young violinist. I'm learning great techniques without anguish. I appreciate that, believe me!

Not worth it if you are teaching yourself.
This is a good book, but only has 7 songs, not worth it if you are teaching yourself

Good
Suzuki is a good course to follow. It gets a lot harder on book 3 as opposed to book 2, at least for me

Nice violin book
Good book to assist with learning violin. Have used the same method for Volume 1 and 2. Reasonably priced better than buying at a store.
