Panne Velvet Navy Blue, Fabric by the Yard

The fabric is awesome....I was a little sketchy at first because none of the reviews talked about using it for headboard. I had been trying to make this headboard for a few months this was my first time and the fabric was affordable. The shipping was quick and they gave me exactly what I asked for I believe I bought 3yrds and this is a KING size headboard. I am so happy with my purchase!

I purchased this fabric for making ornaments, and it will serve that purpose great. However, for cloth sewing this fabric already presents with "peeling" on the inside, which is the worst. Hence, I recommend for crafts, but not so much for sewing clothing. Also, while the fabric does have some stretch to it, the stretch is a minimal one...I have purchased other similar fabric (better quality) that has a more comfortable stretch and thicker texture. The texture of this fabric is a bit rougher and its thickness is about a 1/3 less than other panne velvets available...but, for the crafting project I purchased this for, it's thinner thickness works fine. I deducted 1 star because of the flip side peeling, which makes the fabric unusable for any other sewing projects I might have considered it for. Note: For anyone not familiar with "peeling", it's those little balls that form where fabric rubs against itself when worn or washed.

The color is no where near the same shade of green as it is in person. The texture was not velvetty, more like a dishrag but not terry cloth. I also got mine with a spot of some kind of goopy white adhesive that I cant remove. So I was pretty disappointed. I was going to make a cute summer dress for a special occassion but it woudlnt work. I dont even know what to do with this fabric, i should of sent it back but kept trying to remove the adhesive. i wanted to find something to use it for but I can not.

I made a Halloween dress from this fabric. It has the perfect amount of stretch. This was my first time making a dress and I was happy with the results. Good quality fabric!

It's somewhat on the thin side and it measures smaller than stated in description. To me, it gives off a tad of green. At least it shimmers and it's crushed "velvet".

The color is not anything like I thought it would be from the pictures on Amazon. I thought I was getting like a deep burgundy kinda rose colored red, and in person the fabric looks pretty darn purple. Even my picture doesn't make it look as purple as it does in person. Like... This color is purple. The pics on Amazon look like a completely different color from what I got. The fabric will serve its purpose: I got it as an aisle runner for a wedding. Not the right color at all, but I'll make it work.

What's in this picture is not what I received!!!!! I guess mocha is relative...what I got is at best dark champagne!!!!! Not this dark chocolate brown of this photo!!!! In the scrap pile it go..somebody will want something made in this color..smh

I love the rich mocha color of this fabric. Crushed panne is very soft & warm. Easy to work with when sewing. It is a little on the thin side & a little bit sheer but it will do. I use it to make flaired skirts & the leftover is used in quiltmaking. Highly recommended!
