I have been called a ' food snob ' many times. Regardless of the intent, I consider it to be a compliment and freely admit that I am guilty as charged. However, I am not one of the food snobs who think that ' the higher the price the more superior the product '. I will agree that the highest quality products will generally cost a bit more, but, there is a limit to this connection. Blue Lily organic Tellicherry peppercorns are an excellent example of this disconnect in the price = quality school of thought. As soon as I opened the air tight bag, that perfectly protects the peppercorns from any moisture or the damaging effects of exposure to the air, I was treated to the delicious, spicy aroma of fresh Tellicherry peppercorns and I could hardly wait to pop a couple of those perfect looking gems into my mouth, which was already watering in anticipation. When I cracked the peppercorns open I was rewarded with a burst of flavors ranging from fruity to resinous and dark caramel all gently smoothed with the signature heat of Tellicherry peppercorns. Not that biting, almost overwhelming burn of most other peppercorns, that can catch in the throat before becoming bitter on the tongue.These little beauties were the perfect reminder of all of the reasons why, when cooking or for adjusting seasoning at the table, I will only use Tellicherry pepper. Now that I have had Blue Lily organic Tellicherry peppercorns, I won't settle for anything else ! PLUS, I will be saving money now that I have found Blue Lily brand organic products !

We really enjoy peppercorns — from pickled green to pink faux — in a variety of sweet and savory dishes across many cuisines. These Tellicherry black peppercorns struck me immediately upon opening the bag — and enjoying the pungent scent that wafted out, followed by a crunchy nibble that had some zip, but not too much burn — to be of an especially high quality. Some went right into the peppermill, and the rest filled one of many moisture-sealed antique mason jars shelved near the stove for handy use. Fresh cracked pepper is a versatile helper in the kitchen, not only in standard applications, like atop salads and omelettes, but to add a judicious kick to rich chocolate desserts, an unexpected flavor boost to ice creams and to balance overly-sweet or bland concoctions of virtually any stripe. I also like crushing or using the peppercorns whole in everything from bone broth to pickling brine to tea. I want THAT kind of workhorse to be of this top-tier quality, and organic. I absolutely intend to order again.

These taste great and are a good value for organic. Yes! very aromatic, really smells wonderfully. Nice package, organic product, you can't go wrong with this. NO comparison to the shriveled small usual peppercorns. I find the little extra expense well worth the result. Recommend.

We go though about a pound every 3-4 months. I was always happy with the type I would buy on here, but last time, it was out of stock. So, I purchased this one. It's more expensive than I was used to, but it was well worth it.They aren't very pungent until cracked - at which point they release a much more robust punch than I was used to. The seal on the bag is quite solid for just tossing in the pantry between fill-ups. Pretty sure I'm going to stick with this one in the future.

I wasn’t really expecting a different flavor from black pepper but I’m so glad I tried this. Coffee connoisseurs would probably be able to describe the “notes” better than I could be maybe black pepper with uplifting slightly sweet notes? I also had no idea of the nutritional benefits of black pepper-bonus!
