I have also used similar vitamin C capsules from other brand. The price of the Borghese capsule is relatively expensive, and the ingredients are same as I used. The lotion application feels a bit tingling, but it disappears after a few minutes. After using it, there is not any allergies, but you need to apply sunscreen products, and my previous capsule reminded you to use it with sunscreens with sunscreen ingredients that are exclude titanium dioxide. Well, that was unexpected. Although Borghese and Neutrogena are not owned by the same company, these Power-C Firming & Brightening Serum Capsules are the exact product and same ingredient list as the competitor's Vitamin C power serum capsules, but the prices are quite different. This one is $75 for 50 capsules and the other is $14.99 for 30 capsules. Translation: one is less than half the price for an equal quantity.Vitamin C is an excellent skin brightener aka pigment lightener, but it isn't the best skin lightener out there. The process and results are more gradual than heavy hitters like Kojic Acid, Mulberry, Arbutin, Glutathione and Licorice Root. Vitamin C, which is an antioxidant, falls even further down that list, but it's reliable and has other attributes, such as stimulating collagen production to prevent sagging skin. So you get the double effect of more tightened, youthful looking skin and help with pigmentation. Raspberry Leaf extract has also been added for moisturizing.I'd already used the competitor product before ordering this one, and liked that one very much. This one also has skin smoothers (two different soft, waxy siloxanes) that blur lines and wrinkles, and contains the same 20% Vitamin C, which is the upper end of the recommended concentration for effectiveness. The formulas and capsules are twins of each other -- how did that happen? -- and both are Fragrance-free. For sensitive skin, I don't think of Borghese. However, it used to be one of my top cosmetic companies. They made the best eye shadow, mascara, lip and eyeliners, and lipsticks for a LONG time. Every holiday season, they had a train case packed with all those items, either free with purchase or $40 for a stash you couldn't use up in a lifetime. I used all their products, as well as their superior eye shadow base (now discontinued), but not the skincare because it was heavily fragranced and irritated my sensitive skin. I miss THAT Borghese. She's gone, and the company has been struggling to find a new foothold. These serum capsules might be part of that new trend. If so, they are imitating a very good serum from another respected skincare company that targets customers with sensitive skin.Normally, I wouldn't make such a strong comparison, but the products are identical except for price, and right now I have 7 times as many Borghese capsules as the other brand. I really like the serum capsules. They work alone and under moisturizer. I saw improvement in my light sunspots right away. No irritation. No redness. No allergic reaction.I recommend the capsules, but manage your expectations about fast results in general. Vitamin C is not a quick change artist. There are 50 capsules in the jar for a reason. The only downside is that Vitamin C cannot be mixed with products containing Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) or Retinol. Either commit to a Vitamin C regimen til finished or don't used conflicting ingredients the same day. Also wear sunscreen outside with this product.The choice is up to you. Either way the capsules are identical and work the same. It just depends on the price you want to pay, but I'm a new fan of the capsules either way and have longtime experience with either company. It isn't often that you find identical products from different companies, but it bears mentioning.

This Borghese Power-C Firming & Brightening Serum is a silky white, silicone-based serum with 20% L-Ascorbic Acid, Vitamin E and raspberry seed extract. The 20% concentration is the most potent amount as anything higher doesn’t increase effectiveness. L-Ascorbic Acid is my favorite type of Vitamin C as it agrees with my sensitive skin, and I get noticeable short and long term benefits. My skin has aged well, and I attribute it primarily to long term use of L-Ascorbic Acid and protecting my face from sun (after way too much exposure when young).My skin is dry and sensitive but tolerates this Borghese serum well. L-Ascorbic Acid can be irritating in such a high concentration, but I’ve been using it for over 15 years. I initially started at a low % and incrementally increased it to avoid any significant irritation, as recommended by my dermatologist. I can’t say I’d tolerate this serum so well if my skin wasn’t acclimated, but I’ve had no irritation and only momentary stinging. It would be normal to feel some discomfort using this serum given the 20% strength.The passing stinging I felt confirms for me this serum is potent, as this doesn’t contain any ingredients that bother me. This has no fragrance (which can be an irritant) and is even preservative free. I really like the capsules as they prevent the Vitamin C from degrading, plus the amount in each capsule is just right as it covers my face, jawline and under my lower jaw. I don’t think one capsule would be enough to also cover my entire neck, but I use a separate neck product.L-Ascorbic Acid gives the best results from regular use over time, and I definitely see the payoff from using it long term. It’s a gentle exfoliator and skin retexturizer. It brightens and evens skin tone. It reduces and reverses sun damage. It fades dark spots and has gotten rid of some of my hyperpigmentation entirely. It stimulates collagen production and firms. I try new products, but I use L-Ascorbic Acid as my main staple (plus hyaluronic acid) as I get these real benefits, my sensitive skins tolerates it and it’s not a health risk (unlike retinol).So far, I’ve used this Borghese serum daily for almost 3 weeks and am really pleased with it. My skin texture feels silky soft and smooth. The serum is soothing and hydrating, and I notice some softening of fine lines. My skin can look dull, but this serum makes my skin brighter, clearer and gives it a dewy glow. While optimal results require longer term use, my skin tone is looking more even and I see some fading of dark spots. My skin is starting to feel firmer. This serum is excellent and will provide a lot of benefits if used regularly. Love it. 5 stars.
