This is an excellent cable that provides BOTH charging and data syncing with your computer. It is important to note that some usb to micro usb cables only provide for charging capabilities ... they don't pass data back and forth. Some cable sellers don't specifically mention that their usb to micro usb cable is for charging only. As a result you might buy the wrong cable and only find out later. So when buying cables be sure to check that the description specifically states that the cable will work for both charging and data syncing.

Bought two of these chargers a few months ago and they worked great. Now they are loose in the kindles (and my Android phone) and I have to really mess around with them to get the kindles or phone to charge. Frustrating. I would think they should last longer than 4 months.

ChargerCity High Quality Micro USB Data Cable Exclusively for HDX HD 7 8.9 LTE Tablet (6FT) DOES NOT WORK AT ALL WITH MY KINDLE FIRE HDX 7" This cable advertises in its product name that it's specifically for the Kindle Fire HDX and HD models 7" and 8.9" versions. However, my Kindle Fire HDX 7" does not even recognize its plugged in when I connect this cable. It's not just a case of a one off bad cable either, as I bought two of them at the same time, and neither will be recognized by my Fire. It simply does not react to the cable, no error message or anything, just continues along like nothing is plugged in at all. Doesn't matter whether the cables are connected to my Amazon wall charger, another USB wall charger, my laptop or car charger, the Fire simply does not recognize these cables AT ALL. No charging, no transferring of data, nothing, it's like nothing at all is plugged in. At first I thought my Fire was simply glitching and not showing the charge icon, nope, I left both plugged in, and even just on standby (not doing anything) battery continues to drop like normal, these don't even provide a low power maintenance charge. Utterly 100% worthless with my Kindle Fire (and once again, the product name specifically mentions this is meant for the Kindle Fire). I also tried the cables out with my cellphone, a Samsung Galaxy S4 Active. The phone DOES recognize the cable, and will gain a charge (so I know the cables have a modicum of functionality) BUT it is only a low power maintenance charge, will only charge if the phone is not in use, so if you're battery is low and you plug it in while using it, the battery power will continue to drop. My other micro USB cables (that I intended this replace) that need the plug to be held at just the right angle to connect have more functionality than these brand new cables. This product was a ripoff and I want my money back. Do not buy.

The reason I was purchasing a new cable was the act that the original cable would not stay connected, falling out of connection. I have found the same to with the new cable. It does not fit tight into the connection, but seems to only go in a partial way leaving the cable to sit at an angel in the connection, and will eventually fall out of the onnection. So, I did not gain anything with this purchase,

Nice, heavy charging cord. does not crimp very easy, and that is a plus!! I have found that the cord is in an inconvenient place on the Kindle Fire HD, 7", and being disabled, I seem to spend more time using the Kindle on my chest, and when plugged in, I crimp my cords rendering them useless in no time...this cord has a heavy hard plastic guard next to the plug to aide in this not happening. Not perfect, but better!!

Charges my Kindle Fire tablet well and relays data without difficulty. I live in a two story home and needed an extra for my bedroom. (Now, I already had an extra "Amazon Kindle 9W Power Fast Adaptor Plug".) This kept me from moving the USB Data Cable and Plug up and down the stairs. I also use it for traveling. Have had it for 3-4 months. Would purchase again from this company. It came in 2 days and certainly has been very functional to date....Paula C.

I had to return this; I felt like the connector was so tight that I would damage my Kindle using it. Other than that, it seemed a good enough cable and I'd certainly look at their other products.

Quality is good. On the listing I didn't notice the length of the cable, but I like the length. ( 5 foot ) Delivery was excellent. I used it upon delivery and it works well for what I needed. Would use them again if need be.
