Stanley Tape Rule 1/2In X 12'

Excellent product! Simple to set up, solid and long-lasting. Shipping needs improvement, but I like it overall.

Stanley is always good. I like lever lock tapes. This one is great for everyday carry. As was previously reviewed the tape markings are too busy, less unnecessary information would be better. And marks down to 1/32nd inch in the first few inches would be better. My old 16' leverlock is marked that way. I like the rubber grip surfaces on the top and bottom, makes the tape better to hold. All in all it's just what I wanted and needed.

There are so many to choose from and I can be picky, I prefer to see and feel products before purchasing. But, this one was worth it! It feels great in my hand, the size is great, not too bulky and not too small, the weight is great, it feels sturdy and well made. It functions just as it should and the tape pulls out smoothly and retracts without a problem. Also, the numbers are easy to read and the standout length is great! Very satisfied! Highly recommended!

This was supposed to be the write on model, but the one I received did not have that feature. But I still rate it 5 stars because it is such a great tape measure. The lever lock is way more convenient than the button slides on most tape measures. My old 16' LeverLock finally broke after decades of use and I expect that this one will outlive me! Just picking it up, you can tell it is a hefty, quality tape measure. The lock is very secure but releases the tape with a press of the lever.

Stanley tape measures are made in Tawain. Seems to solid though.

This is probably the best general use measuring tape I've seen for the money. The ABS frame feels durable, yet lightweight and it's very easy to grip without accidentally pressing the release to retract the tape. The lever lock on the bottom requires a small amount of force and doesn't retract too quickly (the dreaded snap back). The tape itself flexes easily but it's quite durable. I tried abusing it a little by bending it around metal surfaces and snapping it back and fourth without any issues. The fractional scale and markings are exceptionally well printed and easy to read and the yellow paint feels like it won't flake off easily.The magnet is strong enough to pull the measuring tape without worry even on thin steel. It's also easy to remove if you don't want it in the way. Pros: - Well made and durable - Easy to grip and lightweight - Solid retracting mechanism - High quality paint and markings on tape - Strong magnet is useful and can be easily removed - It's cheap Cons: - Metal clip on the side is a little small - Slightly bulky If you need a tape measure for woodwork, building, crafts and around the house I wouldn't hesitate on buying this tape measure. Absolutely worth the price.

I ordered this on Amazon because they no longer carry it at Home Depot or at least the one I went to. This has been my favorite tape measure for years. I love the size. The length is good for normal woodworking and the way it retracts is my favorite by far! I ordered this based off the picture which was yellow, and I received an orange and black tape measure, which was a surprise, but I actually do like it.

Used it 4 or 5 times and the tape cracked on one side at around 9ft and couldn't get it back into the housing mechanism. Cheaply made to break this easily.

Just as expected. This is a great home handyman measuring tape
