Equal-i-zer 4-point Sway Control Hitch, 90-00-1401, 14,000 Lbs Trailer Weight Rating, 1,400 Lbs Tongue Weight Rating, Weight Distribution Kit DOES NOT Include Hitch Shank, Ball NOT Included

I had wanted to get this hit for a couple of years and finally purchased it when I bought my new camper. I was worried that it might be a pain to setup. After reading through the instructions, watching some YouTube videos and re-reading through the instructions, it was actually fairly easy to setup.I immediately noticed a difference pulling my camper vs. the old round bar weight distribution hitch. I don't notice any sway when towing now. Even with sway control bars on the old setup, I would occasionally get some sway, and anyone who's towed much would agree how bad that feels. With this hitch setup, the sway control is built it.I have 0 regrets with this hitch and I can hookup faster than I did with the old setup.

Excellent product. I had this same product in the 10,000 pound rating I used for about a year. We just upgraded to a much larger travel trailer so needed a higher weight rating. This was much cheaper on Amazon than in any local RV shop and came with few prime shipping. It's heavy and comes in two packages. But it arrived in excellent shape and in only two days as promised. I have used other brand but will stick with the equalizer. This does not come with a hitch ball or shank. Buy the equalizer ball or the regular ones will interfere with hitch operation as the threaded portion is too long.

Just traveled from Chicago to Ocala Florida and the trip was flawless. We are pulling a 34’ travel trailer with an F150. The F150 is built for heavy loads and a 12700 lb, towing capacity and with this hitch, the drive went very well.

I bought this to replace the 6000LB version that I used for a smaller trailer. It's everything I expected Equalizer. Build quality is solid, and heavy. It was easy to setup and install. I watched a couple videos, and had it done in an hour or so. One thing to note - check the torque specs. There are a couple items that say to torque to 400-450 ft lbs. There's probably not many 'normal' folks that have a torque wrench that goes that high. I brought it to a trailer shop, and talked to them about it. They say they never torque anything that high, and themselves didn't even have a torque wrench that went to 450 ft lbs. I torqued mine to 250 and called it good.

Update after 3+ years of use:This has been a great hitch. On a long trip the side blew out of one of the sockets that holds the weight distribution bars. The manufacturer shipped a replacement to one of our scheduled stops and I was able to replace it in the field with not problems. Great customer support.The noise is completely removed by using Equal-i-zer High Performance Lubricant. I was skeptical when Equal-i-zer suggested I try their product, figuring they were just pushing their own product, but the stuff is like magic! No noise, easy to apply with little mess using the tube, and only a dime's worth should be used. I tried 4 different greases and lubricants, and nothing came close to their High Performance Lubricant.Original review:I've already noticed a big towing improvement from the weight distribution, and so far there hasn't been much sway--not sure if that's because the hitch is doing its job, or I just haven't put in enough miles yet to experience it.But I was very disappointed that the hitch was shipped separately from the spring arms, which didn't arrive until the following day. And even though the product pages says "ships from and sold by Amazon.com," it's not. It was drop shipped from some other company, which may explain two separate shipments and the condition of the hitch.Removing the hitch from its box, this appeared to be a previous return. Things were shoved in the box out of place. The box itself had a large hole in the side that was taped up. Many of the brackets were scratched, and a bag of nuts, bolts, and spacer washers was missing. Luckily, I was able to re-use pieces from my old hitch to make things work, but I'm disappointed that I paid for those missing parts and now my new Equil-i-zer hitch is using key parts that have been recycled. Not too happy about that.Installing the hitch went smoothly. I haven't been able to torque the brackets on the trailer to the 65 pounds required because the back brackets are bending. I haven't even hit 50 pounds.And this hitch is loud. I can take the noise as long as it does its job, but it's definitely vocal.

Old Equalizer hitch was at the weight limit and eventually bent the shank. Equalizer replaced the shank, but I needed to upgrade everything else to the 14K. Works great and the plastic L-bracket cover really quotes the rig when turning.

Received what I expected. This is a very well made hitch and one that I trust to tow an expensive travel trailer with. I understood that I was buying a hitch without the drop and without the ball. I also undertood for this hitch the ball stud length (2 3/8" max.) is critical. You will likely have a hard time finding one that short other than through Equalizer. I went to several trailer supply dealers in Houston and could not find one that short. Most that are available are slightly longer than that and they will damage the trunions on the hitch if you use it. You should also know that for this 1200 pound tongue weight capacity Equalizer, the trunion bars and receivers are larger than smaller capacity Equalizers and it will require the use of the special thin wall socket from Equalizer to properly install the ball. I bought both the 2 5/16" diameter hitch ball and the 1 7/8" socket directly from Equalizer which was a bit expensive but again the quality is first class.

Product is great! I use it to pull my 33’ 8000 lbs camper with my 2500 Silverado.Amazon process was a mess. Shipped me box 1 of 2 without box 2 of 2 and initially said I’d received the product. Amazon struggles with multibox items. Box 2 of 2 had the bars in it. Spent lots of time hunting for them and ended up buying the bars from a dealer about an hour away so I could go on a planned trip and Amazon refunded me the difference.
