An intelligently written book...
A critically important book for these times. This is a must-have if you are a serious investor. If you are a dabbler or are yet to start your adventure in stocks, then this book may not be for you yet. The key aspect of this book is that you MUST own it if you have any significant play in the stock market. At this point, for most people with good portfolios, is they rely on an 'expert' to tell them what they need to know. This book changes that dynamic forever. This will be a must-own to every person who invests in stocks.Phillip B. Chute has created a very readable book that is organized in an effective fashion. Each chapter lays out a clear definition of what is being discussed. The format for each chapter is similar and that allows the investor to key on the chapter that relates directly to his/her interest. This is not stock tips for dummies. This is an intelligently written book that gives the intelligent investor a chance to know what his broker is talking about...possibly for the first time.Disclaimer: I received a copy from the author in the hopes I'd review it.My Rating: 5 stars

It's a very informative read for any beginner looking into the investment process or wanting to understand more about stocks or bonds. The length is initially a little daunting, but it's rife with essential information that's made easy to understand.

A thorough and critical look in money-investing
A thorough and critical look in money-investing. It defines important terminology and goes into in-depth explanation. It can get complicated at times, but the author illustrates his impressive expertise and tries to explain the concepts. However, I felt that the subject matter was too broad. With all the detailed explanations, I think it would’ve been better to have focused on one area, like, for example, taxes. Instead of stocks, bonds, and taxes, we focus on just taxes, because, let’s face, they’re complicated enough. Perhaps I just don’t have the head for financial matters, but that is exactly why I would need a book like this but in a simpler manner.

Informative
It’s a long book, which had so much information it took a while to digest it. It is highly informative though and I do recommend it. As someone who is just starting to learn more about stocks and bonds, there were a lot of big financial words that made it take longer to understand the text.I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
