I read the instructions. It has a 8 hour on, and 18 hour off cycle. Timer starts when you plug it in. If you want to restart the timer, unplug it, wait for at least two minutes, and plug back in. The timer restarts the 8 / 18 hour cycle. There is NO MENTION of a light sensor in the instructions---so, I can see why some people assume it is bad when ON in the daytime. HOWEVER, no workie at all when plugged in! I unplugged- waited 3 minutes, and plugged it back in. No workie! So, I cannot enjoy the frustrations ( over 26% in reviews) to claim other problems. There is a label on it testifying that it "PASSED" . Yea, from their hands to mine. Thank you Amazon for quick return for refund.

my bad for not reading more carefully, but I assumed this light was a motion one like most. It is not. For the price then I think it is not worth it and I'm returning. It has a very short cord so make sure to get a long extension cord to go with it as it needs to be set back to cover any area at all.

While the lights appear to be okay and equivalent to similar devices, this device has NO on-off or other buttons to make the lights move as other laser lights do. The product description contains the word "play" but in reality, you simply plug it in at an appointed time and it remains lit for 8 hours. Then it turns itself off and comes back on 16 hours later if the electricity has not been interrupted. I was hoping for a more "fire fly" moving affect. I'll keep this to fill in voids but for $50, I think there may be better options out there.

So I set it up about 5 pm. I'm in Texas, so it was not really dark yet. All I saw were green dots, and one red dot. I went in the house and re-read the description of this product. Seemed like other people had the same problem. Since I couldn't do anything about it I left it set up. And voila! With the darkness came the red lights, lots of them. Ok, but they didn't twinkle or move. I had expected more, but when I had re-read the product description it did not say anything about twinkling or moving. I was disappointed until I came back in the house. There were pretty red and green dots in my front rooms. They were delightful and I was pleased. I may get another one next year for more dots!

I bought this laser light for christmas days. I've been in isolation for a while before opening this package. This light has an interface to connect another connector that is inserted into the ground, but the interface is broken, cracked, and a piece of black plastic has fallen off.

Love these lights!! They are projected on a weeping cherry tree and shrubs and on the house. They look amazing! They’re small, bright and just perfect. When they hit the weeping branches of the tree they twinkle. Very good coverage area. Better than I anticipated. Highly recommended! I’m ordering an additional set today.

This was for christmas I did not want to string lights on my house this year. I am in my 70's and climbing up a ladder did not seem like a good idea I bought enough to cover the entire front of my house! looked great!
