Fixer Upper Season 1

I absolutely, completely and totally love this series. My mom mentioned the show when I was home for the holidays where they have HGTV, and said it was a show she really liked. I love HGTV and watch a lot of series whenever I get the chance--and after a single episode this quickly became one of my absolute favorites, pushing down on my list even other series I'd loved for a long time. Everything about this is awesome. Joanna and Chip have such fantastic personalities on their own but together they make the cutest couple--I love how the show emphasizes their strengths rather than amping up any weaknesses for cheap thrills to get more views like a lot of other shows like to do in general on TV. I love how it also shows some of their family life, and it talks a bit about what led the clients to wanting a house and what they want out of the house. But one of the things I love the most is how it's almost equally on the realty option, the demo, and the actual design. Most other shows focus on one or the other but don't hit on all three. I also love that they choose three actually good options from the start instead of throwing in crap options just for a cheap thrill/drama.Chip and Joanna feel like genuinely lovable, thoughtful, kindhearted people. Chip is so sweet and hilarious and cute and just, ugh he's so adorable I love him. Joanna is so elegant and classic, thoughtful, with a beautiful design sense and a great sense of humor that comes out especially in response to Chip joking around.The only two downsides to this series, in my opinion, are that 1) there isn't more already available, and 2) they don't currently go out of the Waco, TX area. I totally understand why they don't (man, how they manage to balance 4 kids + their business + all the renovations is beyond me--well done!), but it's still sad because I have never seen a couple that I would feel more comfortable giving complete control of a house to than them. I have rented my whole life, so whenever I first buy a house it will be a huge deal to me. I actually really love the idea of buying a fixer upper but I would never know what to do to fix it up. I wish Joanna and Chip were by me, because I guarantee you, despite how scary it seems to buy a house for the first time, I know without a shred of doubt that they would be the people I would go to, no matter the wait. I would feel completely safe giving them free rein to make the decisions I didn't know I wanted to make, and come out in the end with a perfect house, mixing the old and the new and infusing it with what makes me, Me. I have never felt so strongly about that with other HGTV hosts because there was always a bit of an element of drama infused in the editing of the shows, so I always felt a little like maybe what we see of them is fake. But with Chip and Joanna, no matter what editing is done, you can tell in their interactions that they are who they are, and you can see in the incredible end products that they always deliver above and beyond of what is expected.I love this show so much that it's the first time I've ever bought a tv series on Amazon instant video, and I gotta say, I do not regret that purchase for a second.

I love this series. I don't want cable or dish, or whatever it is that this would be on, so I love that it's available on DVD. You get to watch clean family tv, without commercials, and other unnecessary things that seem to be on tv.This is such a fun show, and Chip and JoJo are just fun to watch together. As viewers, you begin to really love their little family (along with appreciating their amazing remodel skills). As someone who is currently undertaking a "Fixer Upper," I sometimes really question how they stay underbudget, and I know that their general breakdown of where money is spent isn't accurate... but it does still provide general ideas. Overall, I just love the show! But don't get into a project thinking that a show like this will be completely feasible for you ;) It's still fun, and gives great ideas though! Do your own research and buy an in depth book on remodeling if you're considering a project. As a show, this is great, but don't take the estimates too literally.

This is a great show set in the town that I grew up in years ago and one of the great things I get out of this that others may not is getting to watch the streets and neighborhoods of my hometown. Beyond my personal connection to this show, it is one of the best home repair shows on tv. Rarely do you find a married couple on any type of show that exhibit the care and love for one another as you see in Fixer Upper. That is a big positive. I also went to college with JoAnne from the show and was in a study group with her. Even back then she was genuinely a good person and it shows in each episode. Her faith has always been strong and this is another positive show on television where faith may not be the focus but it is definitely a part of everything that is done.

Honestly Chip and Joanna make this show. They are easy-going, fun, family-first people and are extremely relatable to the average American family. The more I learn about them, the more I support what they do and who they are. And they make the most beautiful houses together too!

Bought this for my wife. She loves it.

Thankfully my DVD player had no problem with these DVDs, & I found the production quality very acceptable. I am a huge fan of the show "Fixer Upper", but discovered the show in its final production year. I really prefer the earlier shows before Chip & Jo began going overboard ripping out walls, etc. Real people need curtains/window coverings, which Joanna used to include more often in designs. The early shows are more do-able for the average homeowner, it's easy enough to paint walls & change out some light fixtures. But overall this compilation of the first season of shows should satisfy any Chip & Jo fan.

I really like this new home improvement show, Fixer Upper! I love the fact that they don't rely on contrived conflict between the hosts/husband and wife or the people who are purchasing the home. I also really like that they don't add a lot of fake drama ("Oh no, we didn't realize that there were huge holes in the roof when we recommended you buy this home. Can you possibly find a pot of gold with another $5,000 to fix it?")In the first few episodes, Jo seemed to stick really close to her comfort zone with regards to decorating, but she does a fantastic job of creating a beautifully staged home for each of her clients. Chip is such a guy's guy that my husband really enjoys watching the show too. Heck, one night we watched 3 episodes in a row.

J'adore cette émission!! 6 jours de retard, j'ai reçu mon colis. Pour moi, ce retard de 6 jours pour une livraison qui vient des États-Unis - c'est pas très grave. Et le voilà! La qualité visuelle est bonne. ( j'ai vu les commentaires de 2017).Dommage qu'il n'y ait pas de sous-titres. Au moins l'anglais, ça pourrait être bien pour mon anglais.

Ich liebe diese Serie einfach. Schau sie rauf und runter, wann immer sie im TV läuft. Einfach Traumhäuser. Verstehe nicht, warum es die anderen 4 Seasons nicht auf DVD gibt.Aber es gibt Hoffnung! Fixer Upper wird fortgesetzt! Hoffe, die neuen Folgen kommen auch nach Europa und auf DVD!
