Great Quadcopter for Young Kids
I've been flying racing quadcopters for several years now, and my 3 year old aways asks to fly mine.. since mine cost a lot of money, I told him I'd buy him one of his own. I chose this HT02 micro size quadcopter so he could practice in our living room. For how inexpensive this product is, it performs quite well for someone who has never flown before. It has buttons to take off and land by itself, and more importantly it has altitude hold and flies in a stabilized flight mode. All these functions work as advertised. My wife even likes flying this around. The HT02 isn't fast at all, so you have time to anticipate where the quad is going and move the flight control sticks the right direction to prevent hitting something. Oh, and the 3D flip button does work great -- I tried it several times and it flipped perfectly. The included prop guards are easy to install and work well. You can bounce this off walls and ceilings and the props don't get chipped/broke. It came with a set of spare props, a screw driver, 3 extra batteries, and 2 chargers. You'll want to have a few batteries charged up and ready, because flight times aren't all that long. The short flight times are expected though, because this is a very small quadcopter and burns a little extra battery power flying in a stabilized flight mode. When the battery get low, it will slowly come down and land, then disarm the props from spinning.A little extra weight (2-3 grams) could have been saved on this quadcopter if there wasn't the cage around the batteries -- instead a smaller slot beneath could have been integrated into the frame like many other micro-quads I've purchased. But, the design does work and makes installing and removing the battery very easy for beginners.Overall, I'd definitely recommend this quadcopter if you've never flown before and want to try a cheap indoor flyer before spending $100+ on something like a tiny whoop. It is a great way to get kids to start into the DIY drone hobby.

Possibly the best drone for kids under 14, with supervision!
I am an adult, and I own 8 "kid's" drones. As you can see in the picture I also have a DJI Mavic, and a couple of Holy Stone gps drones. Why so many? After buying my DJI drone and studying for my drone license, I found that where I live there are 3 airports whose airspace overlap above me. One private, one public, and one international. It's a 45 minute drive to an appropriate boring place to fly, and hours to some interesting legal spots to fly.So I fly indoors a lot to practice my skills.I have 3 mini drones that fit into their controllers like this one. The other two are the Holy Stone HS190, love it, not for < 14 year Olds, and the third can't recommend so will not mention it by name but it is the only one of the 3 with a camera.Normally I would say drones that fit into their controllers are just a novelty. The HS190 is great, it's downside is the built-in battery, it's quick and flies very well, good for older kids. This drone is so stable I was absolutely amazed the first time I flew it. Probably the most stable drone I have. This is of course indoors, never fly any drones this small outside, ever. This drone hovers in the air as if it was hanging from the ceiling. Even the air conditioning cycling on and off have minimal impact on this drone. I can't say that about any of my other kid's type small drones. For just fun flying around the room, developing eye hand coordination and learning basics of drone flight unbelievable!Again for younger kids, if you want something faster with a camera the HS420 might be better. If you want easy to fly, stable, and 3 batteries you can fly this drone all day, just let it sit for 10 minutes or so when changing batteries to allow the motors to cool.Would I buy it again, even as an adult I would if only to fly around my hotel room when traveling!
