This durable little book is sure to pique baby's interest. With bright colorful photos and simple word labels that capture the expressions and moods of babies throughout their busy days, Baby Faces will mesmerize little ones when they see other children just like them. Review: Baby loves it. - Great book to start your baby being familiar with and loving books. Review: Get it - seriously, get it. One of the top 3 baby purchases we made. - Would give 100 stars if I could. I honestly wouldn't know what we would do without it. After a brief scare one afternoon where we couldn't find it, we actually bought a second one (we later discovered that our 10 month old daughter started throwing toys in the trash that is outside of her playyard out of her reach - daddy is so proud of his little basketballer ;-) This book has a baby face on each page with a simple word underneath each face. When we first received it, I never thought that this would become such an essential item. Our daughter first got obsessed with it around 3 months and since roughly age 6 months requests to have it read again and again and again and again... Even at 10 months it can still distract her, cheer her up, fascinate her, occupy her, keep her busy. My husband curses this book for having to read it so often but at the same time adores it for being such a life safer. If we could only have 3 toys with us while being stuck somewhere with our daughter, this would be one of our choices to bring. So we highly recommend it - in our eyes, it is a baby essential, a must have.

Simple and developmentally appropriate little book of baby expressions
This is such a special, simple little book. Our baby (12 months) loves it so much. She is fascinated looking at the real images of babies. She loves going to the happy face and saying “happy!” I am pretty sure this book taught her how to say and play peek-a-boo as well. The book itself is soft and small, and short enough that I don’t mind reading it multiple times a day. Our daughter loves it when we imitate the emotions and expressions on each page for her. I feel like we are really helping her social and emotional development. I’ve even used it when she is having a tantrum, showing her the picture of tired, angry, etc. and asking her which one she is feeling. Amazingly, she usually picks the correct one and it distracts and deescalates her. She flips though it all the time on her own and carries it all over the house. I appreciate that many races of children are positively represented in this book.

Grandbabies’ favorite book
This has been the favorite board book of all five of my grandchildren and I have purchased multiple copies because they have all wanted to take one home. The pictures are large and clear and it’s easy for babies to imitate the expressions. The peek-a-boo picture doesn’t quite fit in with the baby feelings/expressions concept, but it’s one of the favorite pages for the kids. It can be a very interactive book - my grandson kisses the sad baby, “washes” the face of the dirty baby, laughs with the laughing baby - and we talk a lot about why the babies might be feeling the way they are feeling. It was pointed out in a review for a different, but similar, book that different races were portrayed in an unfair way. That is not the case at all with this book. All races are represented and all the pictured babies are adorable. It’s especially popular with one to two year olds, but even tiny infants are interested in and enjoy this book,

Good concept, terrible pictures
Big Edit: baby absolutely loves this book. We have at least a dozen books of just baby faces and next to lovevery books, this one is his hands down favorite. It’s the simplicity of face on white background and nothing else. Why do other books over complicate it with busy backgrounds etc? Anyway, still taking a star off for outdated quality of images. But this book does the job. This book is on all the must have lists for babies and the concept is great. But it’s copyrighted in the late 90s and I don’t think they updated these photos at all since that time. All the faces are in soft focus with horrible orange blurry skin and barely discernible detail. It’s really dismaying that in this age of optics technology nobody bothered to replace the book of only IMAGES with, well, better quality images.

Great book for my developmentally delayed son!
My son loves this book. He’s two years old and has developmental delays that results in a lot of frustration. I’ve been trying to use this book to show him what angry and other emotions are to be able to better communicate his feelings. He can now look at the photos and sign/act out/ or say what the emotions are. He wants to read this book every time at bed time. He loves the peek a boo section of the book. It’s fun to see him act out each emotion. It’s a very stimulating book for little children. I also love that it’s children expressing each emotion in the book. A lot of the kids emotions books out there have animals or dragons displaying the emotions. I wanted something more realistic for him to grasp and he really has. This is a great book and I highly recommend this facial expressions book. My son loves to turn the pages of this great board book. Buy it!

The gateway book
This book (and those like it) is a gateway book. It is perhaps the most important book to give children a start in reading. Babies LOVE looking at faces, especially of their peers. This, along with avoiding screens as long as possible, is very helpful in giving children the foundation for reading.

My go-to new baby present!
If you buy these for a new baby, most moms will be a bit puzzled but thank you. A few months later, they will thank you again. And again. These picture books, full of happy baby photos, will draw every baby in, and will make books appealing to children before they can even hold them! There is a series of these: babies in the bath tub. Babies smiling. Babies doing various things. But they must be PHOTOS. That's what entrance babies. There is nothing so absorbing to a baby - as another baby. Buy them whenever you can find them; keep a stash in the closet if you can!
