Gear selector switch doesn't work only the high gear works which defeats the whole purpose of buying this more expensive model. Other then that the mag drill works great, no runout etc. I'm hoping I just got unlucky and the replacement will work better. Got it on sale for less then $600 which is a bargain. Will update...

The media could not be loaded. Worked great so far we have to drill a lot of of holes so time will tell. For now great product if you have to drill any holes in metal this is a great tool.

The ON button don't stays ON by it self how it should, we have to keep pushing to have the drill running.We got a first unit that was fine for 1 hour, after that it started failing randomly to stay ON, sometimesIt works pretty good with W8x18 and W8x24 I-beams using 1/2 bits and 13/&16 it takes less than a minute to do the hole.It is not small enough to work on the flange from inside of the I of the I-beam. But it works well using it vertical in the front face of the flange.One issue that prevenir a 4 Star rating: any imperfection in the metal surface would cause the ON button to not stay on by itself because a safety feature of the drill. The magnet holds the drill wheigt but you have to keep pushing the button. The imperfections are galvanized coating in my case.

I spent two days drilling 26 small holes through 5/8" steel flanges of a steel beam. It took at least 10 minutes per hole and I killed my arm applying pressure. The holes didn't look good at all. I had to drill another 26 more and bought this mag-drill. Using a new drill bit, I drilled all the holes in record time, in about 12 seconds per hole. The bit stayed sharp too at the end of it. This was one of the best purchases ever!
