50 feet Long x 30 Inch x 80 mil - Bamboo Root Barrier/Water Barrier

My neighbors have Bamboo growing in their yard and it was trying/succeeding to spread into my backyard. For two years I trimmed it back and pulled out roots and swore a lot.Last year I installed this bamboo shield (no small feet/swore a lot) and so far so good.

I bought this material to block intrusive two Sabal Palm root systems. I replaced older landscape plantings with caladiums last May. The caladiums flourished until September when they started to fail. I had excavated some of the palm trees roots but obviously not enough. The roots had grown under the mulch and over the bulbs causing the bulbs not to be able to send new growth upwards. The palms were planted in 1981 and are about 20-25 feet tall. I have just about finished cutting and digging out roots down to an 18" depth and out up to 6 ft from base of trees - no small feat. I plan to cut the Bamboo shield to put around the trunks about 12" off the trunk at a depth of 18". Once that is done I will replant about 100+ caladium bulbs that I dug up and hope they grow. The palm tree roots appear to grow out and down for the most part so I hope the Bamboo shield works to keep the roots deep under ground. Not sure if cutting all this tree root matting will damage the trees but they are larger than I would like so if I lose them I won't be too upset.

Used this after we excavated 40 year old bamboo from our yard to protect us from our neighbors who did not completely excavate their side. It has worked very well. We have been bamboo free for four (4) years. No intrusion from neighboring yard

My bamboos have been thwarted. Time will tell if they manage to escape their plasticky containment device, but so far, so good...

Used this as a barrier for bamboo. It can be hard to unroll but it is worth it. Will not deteriorate or tear!

This is a tough product, very durable. I think it will do the job well! The hardest part was digging the 70’ long 22” deep trench around our bamboo. I spliced the ends together with (2) 1/8” x 1” bars drilled about 5” o.c. Which I did (2) places. I believe I used #10 machine screws with lock washers and nuts, all stainless steel.

This root barrier is made of durable tough material. It is twice the thickness of some root/water barriers yet the price is still reasonable.
