This is my favorite brand of thread for general purpose sewing. The only reason I did not give this purchase 5 stars was the packaging. The original plastic sleeve was missing and it was just loose in a brown Amazon envelope.

My sewing machine runs smoothly with this thread. Glad I found it.

I bought this brand because I have heard so many experienced sewists rave about it. I found so many slubs in the thread, had a hassle with it sticking in the upper machine areas, I won’t by this brand again.

I sew a lot and have always used Metrosene thread. I purchased my latest spool from Amazon because it wasn't available from my go-to sewing vendors. I was a bit concerned because the spool was red instead of white but tried not to worry about it. I finished a denim skirt with my old white spool, then used thread from the red spool for the hem. After wearing the skirt I washed it (it's denim). I have never seen this before ... the hem was completely puckered as if something had grabbed onto the hem thread and pulled it through the fabric (like gathering). But I found no loose or looped thread. The puckering was consistent throughout the hem. I THINK THE THREAD SHRINKS! I have never in my life had this problem before. Thank god I did not use this red spool thread to make the entire skirt or I'd have to throw it out! I'll be able to pull out the hem thread and redo the hem with another brand of thread. I rarely write a bad review about a product but seriously this is just not right. I'm going to start using Coats & Clarks or Guterman from now on.
