Q: Are they made in China? If not where? If put next to real pearls would they be obvious?

I'm unaware where they're made. I do have real pearls, alike to the faux pearls, no one has noticed the difference. Sincerely, Michelle

No, it just comes in a plastic bag.

Q: Pearls individually-knotted? Any crusty lacquer between beads?

No crusty lacquer. They are obviously costume jewelry, but nice looking costume jewelry. I used them as a prop in an advertising photoshoot so didn't pay attention to whether they were knotted.

Q: Are these pearls heavy? Are they glass or plastic? Do they go on stiff or are they soflty adjusting to the curves of a woman's neck and chest?

Not heavy I believe they are plastic Not stiff......adjusts well
