Sturdy, not likely to tip over

This lamp was heavier than I expected. It arrived intact and it was relatively easy to assemble. That said, the one page instructions and labeling of parts was very poor in terms of identifying some parts. At the very end you have to re-enter a screw to attached the pole to the base that must be removed initially. However, no matter what I attempted the hole on the base and the hole on the pole could not be positioned to form a perfect round match. Hence, the screw could not fit in perfectly and needed to be attached on a slight angle and was not able to go in completely and thus be flush against the pole - not fully inserted. I did not disassemble and return because the packaging was flimsy and packaged very tightly into a styrofoam base that was so thin and the overall dimensions of the box made it impossible to repackage well and guarantee it would arrive undamaged, otherwise, I would have returned it in a heart beat. It is a very large and fairly heavy lamp. It does the job for my husband his assisted living apartment, but right after I put this together I saw several floor lamps in a Hammacher Schlemmer catalog that was exactly what I was looking for. Live and learn as I purchased this in a hurry because he needed it asap.

Looks good, fits in tight space, great lighting and can be twisted to how you want it directed. Would recommend.

Impossible to remove the metal cylinder that was there to protect the wires in transit. Plus the cords were not already pulled through the 3 individual tubes like stated in the directions. Very difficult to push them through the tubes. Could not screw two of the tubes tight enough to each other and the silver threads could be seen on the outside. Extremely annoyed!

Hardest thing when putting together was getting black tape off wiring.

Lighting is perfect for crafts, correspondence etc

We ordered 1 lamp to sit near my husband’s chair.. it worked so well when he reads etc, that we have ordered & are using one more at my chair & the other at our desk in the office. They are well made & we especially like the weighted base. Also , They are quite easy to assemble.
