That means that the 980PRO will still be fully compatible (might need to update the motherboard bios though) but it will only run at PCIe 3.0 speeds. That does not mean it won’t be fast, actually I doubt you will even notice any difference on a daily basis between PCIe 3.0 and 4.0. Hope this helps.
