The only way to get timecode burn-in
Works perfectly on 2006 Sony Handicam. You will need a AV bridge box and a crazy daisy chain cable setup to get into a USB-C port for import. Having said that- The dolts at Sony felt that no one wold ever wish to use a firewire cable to capture footage with timecode/date burn in, and so these cameras only offer a "clean feed" when ingesting digitally. Very annoying. This cable helps to export the analog "all screen" signal through an ingest box, capturing that timecode! It's the only way to do it! Bonus tip for importing Mini DV footage on Mac: Did you know you should only use QuickTime Player for doing this? It's the only solution which doesn't cut off import (FCP is notorious for this, as is iMovie) and lets the entire tape simply run until it's done. You can select between MP4 and ProRes quality, and watch the file size pile up in realtime. Absolute lifesaver for my professional legacy video needs, which are hardly met any longer. DaVinci Resolve sadly and strangely doesn't support deck input either.
