Steelex D2579 Fixed Heavy Duty Industrial Wheel, 8-Inch

Great heavy duty wheel. I needed one this size and strength to adapt to use as a transport wheel on the front of an old rotavator and it does the job admirably. Strong, well made and great value

A very good quality product,strong and very hard waring

It's a heavy bit of seemingly well made kit. I got it to make a dolly for moving my big ladders. Great price. Well worth it!

I now can do all my weekly shopping on my mobility scooter, with my new trailer on tow.

The wheel was easy to mount on a 4 x 6 inch skid. I used something similar to lag screws, about 5/16 of an inch in diameter, to mount the plate(s). The mounting screws do not come with the product. A wooden porch that weighed an estimated 900 pounds was moved about 200 feet. Two wheels were screwed onto the bottom of 4" x 6" skids that were supporting the porch--mounted slightly forward from the midpoint of the skid. A tractor with forks was hitched to the porch for the pushing action. The wheels worked flawlessly. The wheels do not have air which relieves the user from having to pay attention to how much the tires are inflated. The wheels just never go flat and support the rated 500 pounds--and probably more. The surface was packed limestone. The wheels moved nicely along the limestone pack. The wheels would have trouble if the surface was loose gravel 3 or more inches thick. After moving the porch I removed the wheels for future use in building a rolling work table. The smell of the rubber tires was not an issue. I was using the product outside. There is a little smell of curing rubber which dissipates with the passage if time. These wheels are constructed properly, hold up properly, mount properly, and roll properly. I was impressed. High quality at an affordable price.

After the shopping cart wheels broke on our home made wheel chair I had made for my wife (shes a big girl that should be on My 600lb life) I bought one of these heavy duty wheels. They can hold her. Pretty impressive considering the task at hand. I would recommend a pair if you are doing this though. The tripod design I have is pretty tippy and she falls out now and then. It takes a few minutes of laughing and couple of strong guys to lift her back in. Good strength and rolls easily. Highly recommend.
