Buy it now
I can’t believe this was as affordable as it was. Solid casing, the Marshall style knobs always makes me excited. Works perfectly for that overdriven Plexi tone. No large hum when switched on, which is a plus. I’d love to try out more by NUX. They nailed this one, would love to see what else they have going on.

Just a great pedal
The Nux plexi crunch produces a very convincing Marshall sound. In fact, it's gorgeous. Gain goes from a tight crunch to full lush drive, feeling amp-like and responsive at every stage. The Tone and Presence controls offer a lot of EQ control making this a pretty versatile pedal (within the realms of high gain!) You can't dial in a bad sound. Build quality seems good - control knobs feel good. For the cost, I don't think there's a better Marshall-in-a-box out there.

Plug this directly into an IR and away you go! Nice tones.
It sounds good. I used this pedal going into a Headrush MX5, but ultimately it didn't sound miles better than a Plexi amp model, so I returned it. I got the best results going from the NUX pedal into the MX5 and straight into an IR. Going into the front of a clean amp in the MX5 sounded trashy.I also tried this pedal in the analog world going into my Peavey Bravo 112 23w tube combo amp. Meh. Not magical at all. Real amps are a sort of a PIA. Great sounds for sure. But they pale in comparison to the sounds I can make with any modern multi-FX pedal like the MX5, Helix, etc.In general, analog pedals like this will sound a tiny bit smoother than models because of aliasing. Do you know what aliasing is? If you answered no, it doesn't matter, you'll never be able to hear it. I do know what it is and I can only barely hear it. But if you want that pure analog distortion/amp sound, give up. No one besides you will ever hear it. All music is digital. This is life. Hahaha, I jest. Also, do you even lift, bro? ... or sis? Amps are heavy. Even my Peavey 12" combo amp, which I bought 20 years ago and never really used, is more than I'd like to lug around. So if you buy this, I would recommend you go into the FX return of your amp. This is a preamp pedal. Plugging into your amp preamp will maybe not sound so hot. But you do you.

WOW pair it with a good noise gate and its FEROCIOUS
I love this pedal...its noisy as heck so you have to pair it with a noise gate to get the most out of it. I'd suggest the Noise Reaper, which works with it perfectly. When paired with a noise gate, this thing will BLOW YOU AWAY. I have a ton of dirt and distortion pedals, and a Marshall Half Stack and Mesa Dual Rec in my amp collection and I have to say, this thing keeps up with all of them. For the price its a no brainer. It does have the flavor of a cranked Marshall for sure. Not sure if it's 100% plexi but damn it does have that Marshall tone to it.

One very awesome pedal!!
Damn. I love this pedal. Right from the first time I plugged it in to my cheap little solid state amp I keep at work. I brought my home made tele with Bare Knuckle Flat Fifty pickups in it, and that damned crunch. It is a thing to hear.I'm not even going to bring price into the equation here, because this pedal sounds better than pedals that cost 6 times as much. And I've owned some of those pedals. All were eventually sold off. The only pedals besides this one that I own are a Wampler Ecstasy, a Dude pedal and a boutique pedal that really gets me a smooth gain tone that I love...Anyway, if plexi is your thing but with some very wide ranging ability to adjust and dial in presence, highs etc...this is your pedal. Never getting rid of this thing. Its that good. And I'm picky as hell.

Not really a Plexi, it's more of a JCM for the bedroom.
If you are looking for a true Plexi in a box this is not the pedal to get but for $50 and less it is not a bad approximation of a JCM 800 or maybe JCM 900. At the lowest "Preamp" settings maybe you get kind of close to a very overdriven Plexi, it's maybe AC/DC territory. You really have to turn everything except the volume down very low to get anything close to an old 70's Marshall and it really doesn't do JTM 45 except perhaps if you roll back the volume on your guitar but it doesn't really nail it. Also, there is quite a bit of underlying noise so this is more of a bedroom or live performance pedal. I would say it is not for the studio.I would rate the materials and constructions about average to slightly above average for a lot of the stuff built in China. It's a lot better than a Behringer but costs twice as much also. After I ordered this I saw one listed under $40 but it seemed that I was too late to be guaranteed a cancelation so I stuck with it. In hindsight I would advise others to not buy one at the full $50 price. For that kind of money look more toward TC Electronic. TC has a series that is build in China that is made far better. I don't know the name of the series but the pedals I have from it have all ben 5 star pedals in my opinion. The ones I have are the Gauss echo, Thunderstorm Flanger, and 3rd Dimension chorus. They are all killer though the Gauss does eat batteries fast so that is one to use with a power supply. As far as the Plexi Crunch is concerned, it's a good choice if you need a Marshall tone on a budget and are looking for a tonal range from 70's AC/DC to full on 80's heavy metal saturation.

Sounds great!
I really can't say if this truly sounds like a plexi, or even any Marshall for tyhat matter as I don't own any to compare. But it does sound really good to my ears. I'm using this pedal playing a Squier Contemporary Tele running into a Peavey VTM120 and a 4x12 cab. With the gain at about noon, the tone rolled back a hair and the presence dialed up a hair, I get a really nice, full and rich overdrive. Great for playing 70's and 80's hard rock. I also own an MXR '78 Custom Badass and a JOYO Ultimate OD. Between the three I prefer this one, followed by the MXR and then the JOYO. All sound good though.

Tried everything , no luck in getting this Nux to sound decent
Tried it every which way , tried to get the noise out , tried different cords , settings , by itself , in different amplifiers , with different guitars and could not get a good clean sound as in without a bunch of static , noise .If I could have gotten the noise out , the static it may have been useful in adding a thicker sound . Through the vox it sounded the worst of all , pure static high toned , nails on chalkboard sound.Maybe some are defective ?Not going on the board , not keeping .
User
Decent well made pedal nice tones
Great pedal real nice tones i use it for when my amps don't have distortion channel or don't sound good this is a very nice tone from clean crunch up to a nice classic Marshall gritty tone its not a metal sound so don't buy if you think your going to sound like your favourite metal guitarists
User
Fun, powerful Marshall in a box
Excels at mid to higher gain Marshall tones with mid range push. Pedal is not for vintagey low gain tones. Solid case construction, knobs feel good, and graphics are clean. Good as any pedal from well-established brands.

Suena Brutal!
Llego sin problemas, muy bien embalado y el sonido que tiene está brutal.Lo usé conectado al Return de mi amplificador y es en donde me parece que obtuve el mejor sonido.Por el precio que pagas por el, suena excelente!.

This is an affordable kit of most desirable Marshall sounds in one pedal
There is no clean sound, it is an overdrive and distortion pedal through and through. Lots of familiar Marshall sounds in this one. The pedal is a looker and graces the pedal board really nicely. The plexi-chassis is a scratch magnet though so be careful because it can get ugly fast. You can get typical overdrive to all out heavy metal and scooped distortion sounds by sweeping through the pots to dial in your sound.
