Dentists have suggested swishing with antimicrobial liquid Peridex after flossing and brushing, but such swishing causes the teeth to darken and they remain so until the next professional teeth cleaning. However, a dentist once gave me this simple yet ingeniously designed pocket irrigator, whose needle-type tip delivers Peridex right between the teeth and gums, thus avoiding teeth darkening. As an added benefit, one uses much less of the expensive, prescription-issued Peridex. That irrigator lasted for several years but then the metal tip snapped. Not having access to the said dentist any longer, I searched "heaven and earth" to find a replacement, but without success. As a last resort I searched "good, old Amazon" and, lo and behold, the elusive contraption was there. Thank you, Amazon. Normally, I first check with Amazon when I need something, but I could not imagine that Amazon's collection was so humongously (pardon the expression) huge. No wonder Amazon grows by leaps and bounds while shopping malls shrink; let alone wasting gas, time and nowadays often dealing with poor service.

Handy for cleaning or administering medication to a dental pocket. Portable enough for travel, small enough to fit in a purse or pocket.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I have deep pockets and I worry flossing isnt enough. I also hate the water pick because I tend to be very messy with it. It is so thin it reaches all the deep areas but the down side to that is it's not a strong flow at all, even if I squeeze very hard. I suppose it is still irritating to a degree and getting medicated products into those areas which is good. Came with a lot of literature on oral hygiene, gingivitis and periodontal disease. Also a catalog of their products. Very helpful and informative. Gum health is so important, which I had found this sooner.

I use this pocket irrigator to deliver a prescribed solution to isolated areas of my gums and it works great. I would imagine that people who are complaining about it being flimsy and breaking are handling it too roughly. I’ve never had that problem.

No matter how I tried, the irrigation nozzle seems blocked and the solution doesn’t come through, very frustrating and waste of money for such a simple device.

I have receding gums behind my bottom, fromt teeth from a tongue ring when I was young and stupid. I kept getting infections and this is perfect to clean out that area with salt water and keep me infection free.
