New Teen Titans (1980-1988) Vol. 4 (The New Teen Titans Graphic Novel)

This volume has features the original trip to Tamaran, the homeworld of Koriand'r and her arch-enemy/sister Komand'r. This section is one of the great comic space operas which includes epic battles, a new space-fighting force, Superman, a captured goddess and a 25-planet solar system. Somehow Wolfman and Pérez squeeze all of this into a comprehensible package with good character development and a satisfying end (in the Annual volume #2). There are other great stories here, but this saga is one of the crown jewels of the original New Teen Titans and it's the one that made me realize the complexity of Starfire's character.

More continuing stories about the NEW Teen Titans, in sequential order! Thrilling stories and amazing art, though Mr. Perez does often seem to be constrained by the size of the page, with one notable instance of characters speaking from off-panel.My gripe here is that this book features appearances by Garth (Aqualad) and Roy Harper (Speedy), former Teen Titans of the "silver age". Both appearances reference an issue titled DC Blue Ribbon Digest #18, which had an in-continuity meeting of these former Titans with the new ensemble. If the issues at hand refer to this work, why couldn't it have been included? Seems pretty pivotal! WTF DC?Ranting aside, these editions continue to be printed on rather average paper stock with colors seeming slightly dulled, nothing at all like the recent classic reprints like  Superman: The Golden Age Vol. 1 . If future volumes in this series switch to the paper/color of the Golden Age Superman, it would behoove DC to reprint these duller appearing volumes, and include the missing tale.

All your favorites, which inspired stories for decades, but the original can’t be beat! Art and stories are amazing, don’t pass this up

this is a fantastic addition to my collection, the most important thing u get from this addition, is to learn about the background of Starfire and her Sister Backfire, that being the base show;s the reader that there is more than the big boobs and skimpy costume, you see what happens when one sister believes she has had her birthright taken from her and what that means to the festering anger she has build as the foundation of her life.

I remember reading this as a wee kid in the 80s and was fascinated by Starfire and Blackfire...but mostly I just LOVED Wondegirl for some reason...she was the Amazon kid sister of Wonder Woman!!!!

Continuing the terrific classic stories of the Titans. If you did not grow up on this...it's not too late to get started.

Not only Terra introduced in this but it also shows why Starfire is a popular character. And it has nothing to do with her design.

Great artwork great story line what more can you ask for

I have the original comics. These soft cover trades are much nicer than the pricey Omnibus versions on the horrid gloss stock, poorly bound and hard to read books. Marvel’s Omnibus books are superior. These soft cover editions are well reproduced. Highly recommend the trade paperbacks.

Nach den ersten drei Bänden war auch dieser für mich Pflicht! Auch hier gelingt es dem Zeichner-/Autoren-Team die einzelnen Charaktere deutlich weiter zu entwickeln. Wolfman und Pérez bauen hier eine kosmische Schlacht vom Feinsten auf. Nebenher gibt es Gastauftritte von Superman (die Abenteuer um den Kryptonier schrieb Wolfman damals auch!) und den Omega Men, welche er auch erfunden hat. Die New Teen Titans brauchen sich an dieser Stelle absolut nicht hinter der Konkurrenz-Serie "Uncanny X-Men" aus diesem Zeitraum zu verstecken. Nicht umsonst waren die Teen Titans in den 80ern DCs Top-Serie und viele Fans erinnern sich gern bis heute an diese Klassiker. Zudem sieht man hier auch erstmals Terra, die in den folgenden Ausgaben noch sehr stark an Bedeutung gewinnwn wird. Fans allen Alters, ihr werdet es genießen!

Pretty good series almost got all of them now For some reason on this order though when I got it in the mail with another Dvd it had some kind of oil on the back of the cover
