Best Jerky-Style Snack Around
My first bite of this dried beef snack, I thought it had an interesting taste. It was different, not what I was used to. At first, I didn't like it, but lo and behold a few seconds later my hand was back in the bag and I was eating another piece.I quickly got used to the lack of sugar and found that I actually liked it! I've ordered the large back twice already. My second back actually had better, consistent cuts of beef. The first bag, the cuts were thinner, so I'm liking it even more on my first re-order.The quality is impeccable. I'm on a Paleo Diet, and the majority of beef jerky has MSG and all other sorts of crap in it. I eat this after my strength training workouts and sometimes a a mid morning snack.I definitely recommend you try them. It won't be what you first expect, but you'll like them.

Stick with the 8oz bag! The 16oz was awful! -- or, maybe it isn't so bad after all :-)
This review is for the 16oz packages.I have purchased the 8+ bags of the 8oz Biltong from Braaitime before and absolutely love it. All of the packages were consistently good, tender, and all had little to no gristle left after chewing a piece. This Biltong is my favorite jerky now.So I purchase the 16oz thinking it's the same stuff. The logo on the bag is the same. The bag is a little different in that there's no clear plastic window, (despite the picture) but other than that, it's the same. The quality, though, was horrible! The pieces were extremely dry and crumbly and I had big wads of gristle I had to spit out every time i ate a few pieces. It was no better than the generic old cheap jerky you can get in the grocery store for $10. VERY disappointing for a $30 bag of jerky. In hindsight, I should have shipped it back, which is saying a lot for me, since I rarely return anything, especially food items. So I ordered another 8oz package before writing this review, just to be sure, and yep, the 8oz is as good as always..just how I remembered it. Maybe very few people order the 16oz and so they sit around for months and months before finally getting shipped out. Maybe I just got a bad bag, I don't know. One thing's for sure, I'll never go the 16oz route and take a chance on throwing away $30 again.Bottom line: From my experience, this Biltong is awesome, but not if you get the 16oz bag.##### UPDATE - 05-15-2015 #####I did order another 16oz bag, based on another user's positive review, and it was similar quality to the 8oz this time, which is great!. Maybe I just got a dud. So I'm changing my review to 4 stars. I'll make sure to return it if I'm not satisfied in the future.

Delicious and Great Value for Money
I have tried many different biltongs over the past month and this is one of my favorites. I love the taste and it is cheaper than many other options and you get way more. The reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because there was A TON of like meat dust at the bottom. We are talking like enough to fill a bowl and eat it with a spoon. I actually did eat it for a while but it got tedious. I'll probably order another bag to see if mine was an outlier though.Update. I got another bag and it was even better than the first. Much less meat dust.

From a delicious treat to inedible leather belt pieces
I’ve been buying this jerky from braiitime for almost three years now and the quality keeps going down down down. It’s seems like every time I buy another bag of biltong it’s SALTIER and SALTIER. Almost to the point of being inedible. In addition to that biltong is supposed to be super thin slices from a large piece of dried beef. I’ve noticed the slices also keep getting slightly thicker causing them to be difficult to chew. Lastly braiitime seems to think it’s ok to casually sweep large awkward biltong trimmings into the bags that are basically inedible. They are Cube like pieces the machine didn’t process and they get thrown out each time I encounter them. Braiitimes jerky used to be more seasoned and less SALTED. It also used to be cut so nice and thin is was easy to eat it by the hand full. I find myself now carefully eating one piece at a time because it’s like chewing on pieces of a leather belt. Not sure what has changed with their process but I’m pretty sure this is the very last bag of biltong I’m ever buying from braiitime.

Discouraging
I've bought Biltong from Braatime before and have always been fairly happy with the product. The flavor is on point and the delivery is pretty quick. The quality has been pretty good and fairly consistent. Unfortunately, this order the quality seemed to have slipped a lot. Looking at the package I saw that there was a lot of, for lack of a better term, shake (urban dictionary the term lol) in the package. It appeared to be a mixture of seasonings, wood flakes, and meat crumbs. After we picked out all of the biltong we weighed the remainder of what was in the bag and there was almost 7 ounces of shake out of a 16 ounce bag. I would have sent the product back because it was really substandard but my son had already opened the package and started feasting on it before I could repackage it. I'll try Braatime one more time but if I get a lot of shake in the bag again I'll be disavowing them and going with Bledie Lekker Biltong. I've added pictures showing before picking out the Biltong and after.

Thin Slices of Heaven
This was my first time buying biltong from Braaitime and I am very happy! I've enjoyed biltong from Brooklyn Biltong in the past, but when their 16oz product was not available from Amazon I tried this. The flavor is excellent and the packaging is very simple! The biggest difference I've noticed between this and Brooklyn Biltong is the thickness of each piece of beef. I would describe Braaitime's biltong as a very thinly sliced piece of beef which I loved! Very happy with this product's flavor, texture, and cut.Warning: Like many other people have reviewed, this doesn't taste like traditional jerky (Jack Links, etc.). Its a taste that might take a little adjusting too, but once you do you will NOT be sorry!
