We added this to our raised deck when we brought our dachshund puppy home. I had a fear of her slipping through the deck beams and this was easy to install and added a layer of protection and relief for me when she is out sunbathing on the deck. It was easy to attached with zip-ties and has held up for the past few months as we have made our way into the warmer months.

We have a dog, cat and two toddlers. I researched all available safety options for our 6th floor NYC balcony and decided on this. One year later, this is the fifth time I'm buying this product: we used it for a year before our balcony was redone. I like it because it's not opaque, which other alternatives were (e.g. fencing) so it allows light in and maintains any vista you have. I also like this solution because it's nimble. The cable ties allow you to secure the netting loosely (use fewer) or quite taught (use more). For me, I actually overlap the netting so that the balcony has a double layer. Though this is not necessary, the product is reasonably priced enough that doing so wasn't cost prohibitive. I also purchased additional cable ties so that the netting could be secured very tightly. Please note that this was my preference: the single layer of netting with the cable ties included in the box are absolutely sufficient in providing an easy to set-up safety solution. I read another reviewer's comment that her daughter cut herself on this product and I can understand how this happened: the product, while not sharp, does have ends that are plastic. I spent a lot of time (<10 minutes) cutting these edges off. I was willing to invest this time as a precaution and would recommend that others do too to avoid unnecessary cuts for adults or kids. This product also held its own in months of direct sunshine, rain, wind and even snow.

My cats want to be outside on the balconey, but from my balconey my cats are able to access parts of the roof and climb on to the top of the house where I absolutely do not want them. I felt I needed to put safety precautions in place including harnesses, an appropriate length/strength tether (I highly recommend this one: https://amzn.to/45jbK5l ), and this guard around the perimeter of the balconey.The netting came with eyelit screws and opaque zipties. I opted to use my staple gun to attach this to the balconey because I wanted more anchor points. That might not be the best idea because this is plastic, but it seems to be holding very well and didn't seem to damage the netting.It feels very durable. I can see the netting, it is clear but still somewhat visible. It is by far a more aesthetically pleasing option than metal chicken wire or some of the green colored options. My rental is like peachy pink and I wanted something that would look decent and not be an eyesore (my landlord doesnt care, he's done some questionable things around here, but I want my space to look nice.I really like it and highly recommend it.

I bought this to make my balcony a little safer for my cats to come outside with me. Obviously, they could jump over if they really wanted to, but just blocking in between the rails makes me feel a little better about having them come out under supervision. The white/clear guard looks great on my balcony and doesn't block my view. Super easy to put up as well, I just zip-tied it to the railings. I've had numerous people in my complex ask me how well it works for cats.

This product is fantastic for what we needed. It arrived in great condition with plenty of good quality zip ties. I can assure you that my husband is very handy and house projects have always been his specialty.Now that we are in an apartment with few projects to be had, this balcony barrier for our orange cat was a challenge of time and patience. He did not rush it. He meticulously placed the zip ties so that very little buckling would occur.I helped for about 3 hours of the 6 hours he spent. Please note that our balcony is about 65 feet long total so don’t freak out that yours will take as long. Our cat is now safe from slipping through (or should I say with his larger 8 year old frame, pushing through!). We will still always be outside with him and never leave him alone. The city noises are loud and disconcerting. Plus we are 9 stories up.Great barrier that does not block our sunset view nor can anyone detect it’s there from the outside looking in.
