Works really well for me!
Okay. This should be a standard commodity, but evidently this is not the case. I used to get white compound from my hardware store. It came in a cylindrical tube. Then they changed to a block like trapezoidal shape. This last stuff was hard, dry, and just plain did not work. I ordered this product from Amazon a couple of days ago. Wow, what a difference. This white compound, though it seems hard, melts just right under the friction of a wheel or buffing pad. It does leave some residue filled with fines. This residue washes right off with some warm water. I use this for sharpening knives on a pressed paper wheel. The edge is both polished and as sharp as I remember way back when. So for me this product gets five stars and a big thank you...

Dull, sharp, and rough to smooth and shiny
This compound buffs edges of cut acrylic to the same shine as the flat surface. It is a must have for people who work with a lot of acrylics.

Good Product
Product was purchased for use on a motor driven strop and buffing wheel. Works well, creates mirror shine. A little goes a long way. Always apply by hand with motor off. Don't leave it in the garage/shed during the hot summer months because it melts at a lower temp than you might expect. Would buy again.

Did what I needed it to do, in spite of user error(s)!
This is a very large quantity of compound. It is basically a very oversized stick of butter. I used it with a polishing wheel to make aluminum look like stainless steel. It was the first time I have tried this and there was definitely a learning curve. I was able to buy aluminum from a local hardware store and make frames for lowers for my motorcycle on my own using this compound to buff the aluminum until it shined like chrome. A little word of advice, use this sparingly and try not to put too much pressure on the buffing wheel - I found that the harder I pushed and the more compound I used the harder the metal was to control. As the compound heats up due to the friction it becomes more sticky and the wheel really grabs onto the metal. Anyway, after a bit of a learning curve I was successful with this product, and I still have a ton left over.

Makes me want to polish everything!!
I got this compound for use with my knife strop. Works brilliantly!! After you get the final edge on your blade(2000 grit or higher)hit it with this stuff on a good leather strop and you will get a mirror finish in no time and the knife will cut unbelievably smooth. I was impressed as it was the first time I have polished my knives like this. I also used it to polish the feed ramps on my pistols. with my dermal and a felt polishing tip, it took less than a minute. I'm sure the green and red would have worked just as well but I like the white.

Great Polishing Compound For Plastics And Delicate Materials
I bought this white Woodstock Buffing compound to use on plastics that I am polishing up and it works great! I have been using the green Woodstock buffing compound that I bought for stainless steel and it does a great job but it is specifically formulated for metal. I wanted something that was made to use on plastics and this is it. It does a very good job. You can simply rub some of this compound onto a polishing cloth and hand polish or you can apply it to a buffing wheel as well. It works great either way. I am very happy with the job that this compound does!!!

Works as Advertised
Good quality and a huge quantity. Used this as step 3 in a 4 step process for polishing the stainless steel trim on a classic car.

Good compound. Chunky 1 pound bar.
This is pretty good polishing compound. I use it with a wheel for shapening knives. The hefty 1 pound bar goes a long, long ways.
