These retractable hooks make watering so much easier. If you hang bird nest attractive plants they also make it safer for watering while not disturbing the nest. I originally received these as a gift and I re-ordered more. You have to be careful about the basket becoming light weight between waterings as wind can cause retractable winedup and fray.

Product used to hang planters from a second story deck. Intended to assist with watering hard to reach hanging baskets as I use rain water collected off a roof therefore hose with extended nozzle not an option. Thus far seem to handle weight of standard baskets. Locking technique was abit tricky to understand at first however worked easily with first trial yesterday.

I'm very pleased. This is the second time I've purchased them. They work great and now I can reach the plants easily to water.

One of the units does not hold in any position. Worthless. I don't want to return the others and there doesn't seem to be another option. I'll update my review if they send me a replacement for the one.

I like the fact that I can bring my pots down to a comfortable level for watering. Unfortunately it seems only half of them work. Two out of a package of four will not lock down I don’t juggle well so it’s difficult to hold the water bring the plant down and hold it in place and once down it won’t go back up. The concept is wonderful but the reality is a little disappointing.

You don’t know how much you need these little guys until you stumble across them and buy them. I can pull my plants down and have them hanging in front of my windows during the day and at night retract them and they go up and out of the way. Watering is even easier with just the pull of the string. If you have more than one hanging plant then try these. You won’t be sorry. For the cost you really have nothing to lose.

I having been using these Retractable Plant Pulleys for about two weeks now, not very long, but they feel well made. So far I have not used them for their intended purpose (although I have 2 left that I can hang plants from); but, I am using them to make a video chat background (or screen) for the many online meetings my family has now. I have hung a piece of conduit pipe (think curtain rod) across my ceiling with curtains on it, then whoever is in an online chat can move the curtains behind them so they have a nice background. I'm using 2 pulleys, one on each end of a 12 foot pipe. The pulleys raise and lower just as the instructions say and have no trouble holding the weight of the pipe and my curtains up (the "stop" mechanism that holds the "plant" at the desired height is doing a great job and doesn't slip at all).We are currently remodeling so it's no big deal that I have hung a pipe to my ceiling - it's more important to us that people online don't see the construction mess in our online calls and that other members of the family can move around freely on the other side of the curtain during the call.

I didn't think they would work but I was lifting too fast , only problem I have is if extended too far they stick in open position
