Gift for my Mom on Mother's Day. She is a big Ricky Nelson fan.

I love Ricky Nelson and these songs are amazing. This is a great CD

Ricky is, and sadly, probably will continue to be the most under-rated and under appreciated of the '50's rockers. This point could not have been delivered home any better than is done by Justin G, (who is too damn young to be this hip) elucidates so perfectly in his review. I'm 66 and watched these old Ozzie and Harriet eps the first time around on a screen almost as small as people are walking around watching TV on now! Everything old becomes new again- how about that. But I digress. Ricky and James Burton- (who was also just a teenager when they began recording these gems) rock out. I'd put "Believe What You Say" up against any rock and roll recording ever made. Bitchin' R&R and Burton's best solo from where I'm sitting. "Lonesome Town" is just too damn good for a couple of 18 year olds to pull off- but there it is anyway. This disc is one of 6 in my Caddy XLR's 9 speaker Bose setup and has been there the longest. These are good songs with a modicum of commercial schmaltz mixed in. "Young World" is an example.....but then Burton's guitar solo slaps you upside the noggin and forces you to wonder if this is a better song than you thought. It is. For my money, "It's Up To You" is the pearl in this oyster, but feel free to pick your own. All I want to do via this review is tell you that this is one hella compilation. The music, and the quality of sound is stellar. I can hit replay 5 times in a row for Lonesome Town. I hope you can too.

This compilation is a wonderful ensemble of the songs that made Ricky famous. I bought this CD as a gift to a young friend; she loves it. I highly recommend this CD ...

Not sure, but this may not be the best recording in existence, but I’ve listened to it a few times, and enjoyed it.

Such an underrated voice! Simple, sweet teenage love songs. I remember these from when I was a child watching my older sisters dance around the living room. The world can be such a hectic place; it’s comforting to listen to music that is kind and gentle (with a couple great truly great rock songs, like I Believe to mix it up. Time has only made me appreciate his music more. Thru my rose colored glasses I was a hippy college kid in the 60's. Dylan, Woodstock, Led Zep, and all the hard rock of the time. It was great and Ricky Nelson was 50's music and not on my radar. Today, not in the mood for Led Zep as much as Ricky Nelson Greatest hits. Knew only of a few of his big hits then heard more of his songs on subscription radio. This has all the best songs along with great guitar and other instruments. Don't be surprised if you find yourself humming "Poor Little Fool" or one of the many other infectious melodies.

Während etliche der Hit-Zusammenstellungen kaum ihr Geld wert sind, weil die Überspielung der Musik von dubiosen Quellen erfolgte und klangtechnisch nicht überzeugen kann, handelt es sich bei der hier rezensierten CD* um eine ausgezeichnet klingende, vom legendären Bernie Grundman im 24-Bit Verfahren und mit Hilfe der Original Analog-Masters digitally remastered CD, die ihren Preis wert ist.Kaufempfehlung:Unter den unzähligen Hit-Koppelungen des Ausnahmekünstlers Ricky Nelson überzeugt mich dieser USA-Import aus dem Hause Capitol-Records USA bisher am meisten, was Songauswahl und Klangqualität betrifft. All original recordings, superb quality of sound. The only missing hit "string along"

Great to hear him again though some of the "hits" don't seem to be really in the "Greatest" category and others are missing. Interesting how tame what used to be disturbing to parents, etc. now is.

Arrived in good time and perfect condition. Excellent CD. I have been enjoying listening to it on my grocery trips to the village.
