Helmet was way too big and everything else way too small. And I measured my body to get the right size

My daughter is about to turn 3 in a few days (for reference in age.) We have put the helmet on her twice and both times she said they were TOO HEAVY. She wanted to take them off shortly after I put it on her. The helmet itself though seems to be very sturdy, even though right now it’s still a little big on her. The strap going down her chin doesn’t actually touch her chin, but I think maybe in a year or so she’ll be able to fit in it nicely. For now, we just use the head tightening feature as a way to keep it secured.The other pieces in the set are still very very large and too long on her, so I doubt we’ll be able to use them any time soon.

I want to clarify that this review isn't just for the helmet, but also the included wrist, knee, and elbow pads. I bought a set of these in 2 colors for my 2 children (5 & 3 yo). The helmet is big for my 3 yo's large head and fits my 5 yo fine. It takes some adjustment to get it to sit on their heads well enough. I noticed, prior to the first use, that the foam cushions in the orange helmet were already separating. I can glue those, no big deal, though I really shouldn't have to "fix" a new product. The pads, however, are already fraying after 2-3 more gentle uses. They are a bit of a pain to get on, as the knee pads either need to slip up over the pants/leg/calves or you have to unloop the strap and redo it upon getting it in place. For my 3 yo, the pads are all too loose/lax. The velcro coming in contact with the strap fabric only serves to fray it. So, I have some fraying on my skinny 5 yo's pads and a LOT of fraying on my 3 yo's pads. It doesn't affect the pad's ability to cushion from impact, it's just unsightly. I would probably try another brand before purchasing again.UPDATE: within a few months, all padding/guards were useless. Within a year, the inside foam had separated from the helmet, making it completely useless. As my children grew over the last year (still within the appropriate size range), the helmet became much more difficult to adjust snugly. Very disappointing. I've updated my review accordingly. I was hoping for over a year of use from these helmets, and it was disappointing to see the deterioration after a few months.

The media could not be loaded.  I have a grandson who is getting to the age where he thinks he is skilled at almost everything, the scrapes and bumps prove that to be untrue. So far he has not done any serious damage but that is not to say he won't as he decides to do more and more daring things as all kids do. This set of gear will prevent the worst of it and most of the small stuff so the only battle left to fight is to make sure he wears it and the fact is that this set is a lot cheaper than a trip to the ER or doc-in-the-box so it gets 5 Stars from me.

As other reviews have mentioned (MikeJMike for instance) the adjustable head size knob is attached to the helmet by a small and flimsy piece of plastic. It broke within the first couple of days of use. I Can't imagine a replacement of this same helmet would do any good because of how it's built.The other pads are all ok, but the helmet has this one big design flaw that makes it basically useless.The Amazon rating on this set is surely a sham. Do yourself a favor and find better helmet and set, hopefully made by a company you've actually heard of.This definitely fits the mantra of "if you buy cheap, you buy twice".

We go through many helmets and protective gear because my kids are constantly out and about on bikes, skateboards, and scooters. My daughter is going to be turning four and this is her first set and I love how girly it is. We mostly have boys so I had to get the pink set. It’s cute and she loves it! She loves that she has her own and that she can buckle the helmet herself. The shape of the protective gear is great and fits well. The helmet fits her well. Great set for outdoor adventuring!

I liked the sturdiness of the product. Overall it looked like a good set to use, it was for my grandson. The 4 stars is due to the fact that when I received the set it had the wrist pads for the same hand (right side) I contacted Amazon and explained the situation, I told them I was willing to keep the set and even return one wrist pad. I was told I had to return everything and on top of that I lost the price I paid for the set which was less than the current price. For that reason I ended up returning the set.

This is great!We bought this as a replacement for our daughters other one which cracked last year (completely different brand). It can quick in quality packaging and nicely together!Comes with a great little bag to keep everything in!4 stars for comfort and durability simply because our kiddo is a bit on the smaller side at 5 years old, so it is a bit lose fitting on her right now, plus it's winter in Iowa so true durability cannot be tested yet!Great for girls or boys 4 years and up is ideal!
